I would like to give a Warning to all about Fairfax. It sounded like a good deal at the time, but...
I responded to ad in our local newspaper "No money up front Loans" up to $50,000, Regardless of credit!! Me being with less than perfect credit and in need of cash, I called. Was approved for $20,000, so I faxed all pertinent infomation including my account numbers so the money could be deposited in my account. I was told to send in my security deposit of $593.38(the first and last month payment of the loan) via Western union. In only 15 days I would have my money!!!
Skip forward 16 days, No money!! I called, and was told that they were having a few problems, that the money should be there by the close of business on April 15. Did it happen? Yeah right!
The next day I called to see what going on, they told me they had lost their lender they were dealing with and they would be more than happy to refund my money, so I said OK. I had to wait 30 business days for the transaction to take place.(getting upset at this point).
Skip 31 days. I called my bank and to my suprise no money was deposited. So I called Fairfax, again. Amazingly they had found another lender and if I Opted, they would proceed with the loan to be final on June 15. I thought twice about it, but being the trusting person I am, I said Ok. June 15Th, called bank,no money; called Fairfax, end of business day, so forth and so on. June 16th;no money!!! Called Fairfax, Number(s) out of service!! Their website is still active so apparantly they are still screwing people over.
Is there anything that can be done to get our money back? We tried the search engines to try to find them to no avail! The hard part is to find exactly where they were operating from. The address was Seattle, but the Western Union was to Riverdale, Ga under the name Aviance Thomas. I also have a letter from the "cheif administrator" , a Mr. Frank Mustang in Seattle. Searches on him were nil, Mr. or Mrs. Thomas( I can't figure that out) did find results but he/she wont answer the phone)
Somebody, Please help. Lead me in the right direction on the course of action I should take.
