family Law Solutions Steve Tanner and Tara Nickson scammed,lied,too taken,advantage o, fraud Santa Barbara California
HeyPeople,I beg you to beware!!!I I was in an extremley vulnerable state only days after loseing my grandson that had been placed in my care under an Emergency Protective Order for a month.I searched the internet for resourses and attorneys that help low income families.Soon after filling out an on line questionaire,I recieved a call from Mr.Steve Tanner from Natinal Family Law Solutions.He was quick to assure me that I was one of the few cases that they would accept.he told me that that I was lucky because they turn away 80% of the people that request thier assistance Mr.Tanner told me all the things I wanted to hear.I was told that I had to give him a retainer in the amount of $100.00 to get my case started and I gave him my payment information.I was told that I would be dealing with attorneys that work with this orginisation and would provide services that would normally cost $200.00-$350.00 per hour.I was then given the name of Tara Nickson and she would be my case manager.Ms Nickson would be in touch. The next day after completeing a gruleing on line questinaire...I was exited when Ms.Nickson called,but not for long.She ask me about my case. I thought I was speaking to someone that would be able to help.She interupted me and began discussing the $59.00 fee that would be charged to my account on Oct 5th and the $1,300.00-$1,600.00 additional charges.When I ask her when I would be able to speak to an attorney as( Mr.Tanner advised me that the $100.00 was a downpayment toward a retainer)She talked in circles and put everything back on me. I submitted E-Mails .I tried to call.The E-Mails came back as undeliverable and the phone calls went to voicemails.I did get a call back when I left a message that I had re-considered and that I would like to cancel. I was told that I would have to cancel on line that was 11/04/2013 and as I was going thru my E-Mails I was surprised to see that on 10/30/2013 National Family Solutions had confirmed my cancellation as of the 30th WTF? Please know that theese people will take your money and get forms off the internet and basically take the work that you do and prepare the case you have already prepared they will take your money and then tell you they are not attorneys.They will not be in court to represent you,BECAUSE THEY CAN'T!!! I have found local resourses in my state Real Attorneys that will work ie Pro Bono as well as The Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Advocacy Group and based on my income they even waived the $25.00 application fee. As they will tell you Family Law is tough and as everyday people we find it very hard to navigate through the legal system and the toughest part of all is the emotional aspect of this journey.It is sad that people like Family Law Solutions take advantage of people at such a vulnerable time .So do yourself a favor and as hard as it may seem DO NOT ACT ON EMOTIONS! . Sleep on it for a day and then act or you will be taken advantage of and that is the last thing anyone needs at a time like this Good Luck Midge
