I just received a collection notice from RJM Acquisitions Funding LLC on 22 Mar 2010 for an apparent debt I did not settle with Fingerhut in Dec 1997 for a $164 lava lamp. First of all, who pays $164 for a lava lamp????? Second of all, who waits 13 years to try and collect on it???? They do have the address correct for that time frame and I have done business with Fingerhut in the past (mainly the 90's) but I dont remember a $164 lava lamp. I have just contacted Fingerhut to try and validate if I did indeed purchase this item. Thankfully I was able to gather a lot of information via blogs on this company. Hopefully I can clear this up quickly but from what I have read so far on the postings, this is going to be an uphill battle.

RJM Is a notorious Junk debt and Scam debt company, since ALL "Statute of Limitations time limits have passed (7 years) the "Supposed" Debt is Completely Invalid, it's also Highly Illegal to try to collect (They are NOT allowed to sue, Garnish or seize anything).
RJM is known to purchase old invalid debts (If they even exist) and try to scare you into paying (PS they buy these things around ten cents apiece or so) but since more than seven years has passed, all they can do is threaten and lie.
You are probably contacted by something named "The division of Law and Justice, or by "Officer" so and so.
They're trying to get you to agree to "Settle" tell them F*** Y**.
Since this website automatically removes E-Mail and site E-addresses go to Google and enter "Budd Hibbs" READ IT ALL.
Good luck, remember never say It's my debt, or agree to pay some reduced amount, that restarts the Statute Of Limitations and THEN they CAN sue you.
