First National Credit Still trying to rip people off Aliso Viejo CA
Today, March 13, 2002, I received a letter (dated March 11, 2002) from First National Credit. It was in the form of a "certificate" which guaranteed me a "gold credit card" with a limit of $15,000. There is a one-time "processing fee" of $37, or $43 for rush processing and delivery.
I have a law degree, so therefore I know that this letter is what is called an offer......and if I were to send them the "process fee" then I have "accepted the offer", thereby creating a legal, written, binding contract. There was one sentence that caught my eye........"You may use your gold card immediately upon receipt for all purchases FROM CREDIT PROVIDER".......this just didn't sound right.
Sooooo, I did a search for them on the internet and, lo and behold, I have found numerous complaints about this company. Supposedly they "quit sending these letters" some time ago, yet I just received one. THIS IS A RIP-OFF!!!!
I have several REAL credit cards. Some of them do charge a small annual fee.....BUT I NEVER HAD TO PAY IT UP FRONT TO RECEIVE THE CARD. If you get an "offer" like this, please do not "accept" it thus creating a contract with a rip-off artist!!!!!
