First Village Rentals Didn't return our $500.00 Security Deposit The Villages Florida
This is the second year that we have rented from First Village Rentals. The first year we had to wait about 3 months to get our deposit back. They offered us excuses like the mail fell behind the file cabinet and we just found it so it will go out today. At least last year they returned our phone calls and eventually we did get our deposit back.
This year when we arrived the house was really dirty so I called and complained and they really did nothing about it. I even wrote a note to the owners and put it in their guest book, just to make them aware of the situation. The owners called me and I told them what the house looked like and they couldn't believe it. They then said they were having trouble getting in touch with First Villages, they wouldn't return there phone calls either. The owners were shocked to hear what we were paying in rent, they also couldn't believe what we were being charged for cleaning plus the deposit.
It almost appears as if they were collecting money for cleaning but the cleaning wasn't done.
We rented the month of Feb, and now it is May and we still can't get a return phone call or our depost back.
I checked out their web site a few weeks ago and sent them an email, I received an automated response that said the entire office was on Spring Break to spend time with their family and they would return May 1st. However when you called the office they never changed their greeting to say they were on sping break.
It appears to me that they all left town with everyones money and the renters and owners were left holding and empty bag.
Well I guess that isn't going to happen.
