Fletcher's Tire & Auto rip-off! Overcharged on parts and labor and unrequested work done. Tucson Arizona
We took our car to Fletcher's to have a tire repaired and the brakes repaired. Instead of repairing the tire (which was repairable) they replaced it and would have replaced another if I had not stopped them in time. In addition, they did work that was not requested and were not at all clear in their explanation of what they were going to do. They replaced struts at a cost (Parts & Labor) of $959.80 and did an alignment at a cost of $69.95.
When I spoke with a friend in the industry he suggested I compare parts prices and informed me that the average industry mark-up is 70% over wholesale cost. When I checked into this I found that Fletcher's had charged me anywhere from 208% to 387% over retail cost. We had expected the brake and tire repair to cost us about $500 and it cost over $1,800. I am currently disputing this charge. We have now learned to get a written estimate for everything and will never again take our vehicles to any Fletcher's.
