I had my 1999 Ford Contour (80,000) towed to Lakeside Ford in Waukegan because it would not start, I had a diagnostic check at another reputable service shop which told me only a Ford dealership could program my keys and referred me to the dealership. After repeatedly telling me how old my car was and 3 days of unpleasant conversations with Lakeside, they tell me before they can find the problem they need to re -connect the wires to my engine fusebox, which will cost app. 3 hrs@90$ hr. When I brought the car these wires were intact.I tell the service mng. to no longer work on my car at that point he gets very angry and proceeds to tell me they have 4hrs invested in my car and that my steering column is taken apart, none of which I approved. I only approved the $90 diagnostic checkup.

I call Lakeside later in the day and speak with the General Mng.of the dealership and he tells me to get my car off his proprety immediatly.I have never been treated like this in my life. The people at this dealership are the most dishonest and the rudest Ive ever met, I leave there knowing why Ford Motor CO. is not doing so well how can they have people like this representing there products??? I tow it to Libertyville Ford in Libertyville where the servicewriter there tells me immediatly that the wires to my fusebox are fine and intact. After leaving the car at Libertyville FOrd for 4 mnts and talking to FOrd corprate numerous times the service shop tells me it will be $5000 in parts to replace both wiring harnesses in the car not including labor??? Ive explained to Ford the issues with Lakeside Ford, Ive asked them to call Lakeside and get them to send me paperwork on what they did to my car the three days they had it,while taking apart the steering column and ignition.Ford Motor Co. has done nothing for me.I bought this car new when I worked for a Ford dealership as a salesman, and back then I had nothing but good thing s to say about Ford. How can a large company such as Ford Motor CO. treat there loyal customers like this??? TO this day my car sits at Libertyville Ford, they are actually wanting to charge me for a $900 pcm for the car which did nothing to start the car.
