My company is a franchisor, selling tax and accounting franchises. In an effort to generate sales leads, I decided to advertise my tax franchise with two different companies, Franchise Opportunities Network, the owner of the websites FranchiseOpportunities.com and FranchiseForSale.com, and Franchise Growth Network, the owner of the websites Franchise.com and FranchiseSolutions.com. My advertising agreement called for each network sending me 15 leads, at a cost of $500. Horrible experience with both companies and very disappointing results, to say the least. Of the 15 total leads received from each company (30 in all), only 2 of the leads even responded to my follow up efforts. I followed up with all of the leads, either via a phone call, a text message, or an e-mail message. In most cases a combination of all three. I was only able to even speak with just 2 of the leads. The other 28 leads didn't answer their phone, did not return my phone call after my leaving a message, did not reply to my e-mail message, and never replied to my text message. It really appears that all of these leads sent to me were fake and I was duped out of my money. I understand that there are no guarantees when it comes to marketing, but I do believe any reasonable person would expect to at the very least be able to make contact with a lead delivered to him or her. As I have mentioned, I was never able to establish contact with 28 of the 30 leads these companies delivered to me. Very, very suspicious to me. At any rate, in total I spent $1,000 to advertise with these two companies and it was the worst $1,000 I've ever spent. I won't ever advertise with these companies again and I certainly would not recommend any other franchisors advertise with them.

Having served 1,000's of franchisors with franchise sales leads for over 25 years, we never like to hear that our services aren't effective and valued. Calvin with NStant Money Tax Service advertised with Franchise Growth Network in a similar timeframe and for the same number of leads as he did with Franchise Opportunities Network, and he expressed his dissatisfaction soon after his campaign started.
We, too, are sorry that our services didn't work out for NStant Money Tax Service but do take any accusations of impropriety very seriously. We haven't been in business as long as we have and built our solid reputation in the franchise sector by doing anything other than delivering direct-response sales leads with a constant eye to best practices for quality and value.
Again, we're sorry that Calvin had a negative experience. Franchise sales/development is not an easy path, with an average cost-per-lead of $125 and cost-per-sale of ~$8,500 (source: FranchiseUPDATE Media's 2018 Annual Franchise Development Report) based on a franchisor's expenditure across many channels, inlcuding with companies like Franchise Growth Network.
In our experience, franchisors typically sample at least 100+ leads before making an assessment of fit and value.
We wish NStant Money Tax Service better results and success in growing its franchise system going forward. For information about us, please visit https://franchisegrowthnetwork.com.

Franchise.com, I paid you $500 for 15 leads. I was only able to establish contact with one. The other 14 did not answer my call, did not return my voicemail messages, did not reply to my email message, and did not reply to a text message.
Maybe fake leads? Crappy at best. As for your 100 leads claim, funny you didn't mention that to me upfront. You just gladly took my $500. Maybe you do right by your other clients, but you did a horrible job for me.

Franchise Opportunities Network, you delivered 15 "leads". I only established communication with one. The othet 14 did not respond to my follow up. 1. They did not answer the phone 2. They did not return a message left on voicemail 3. They did not respond to a text message 4. They did not respond to an email message Those are the facts. I'll let the readers draw their own conclusions about your "lead generation services".

We are sorry that NStant Money Tax Service’s experience did not align with their expectations. We are responding to their post to tell our side of the story and provide additional background that we believe is important. Franchise Opportunities Network (FON) delivered a total of 12 leads from 9/20/18 to 10/5/18. The leads FON delivers are not “fake” leads as was claimed in their post – they are leads from real people who have a genuine interest in franchise ownership – in this case, NStant Money Tax Service. In fact, 4 of the 10 leads took the time and effort to re-confirm with FON their interest in NStant Money Tax via e-mail and/or text message.
Calvin with Nstant Tax e-mailed FON to rescind a cancellation notice he had sent after 3 leads, because he had a good phone call with one of the prospects that FON had sent to him. So, clearly, his conversation was solid enough with this one prospect or else he would not have changed his mind about the cancellation.
12 leads is a very small sample size in which to draw any conclusions about the effectiveness of a lead generation campaign. Typically it takes at least 100 leads before any firm conclusions can be drawn about the quality of leads. Franchise Opportunities Network takes pride in the fact that we have been in business for over 17 years and helped countless franchises find buyers for their new locations.
We currently have over 350 franchise clients and many have been long-term advertisers. Again, we are sorry it did not work out as planned for NStant Money Tax but we stand by the quality of our leads and the value we provide our clients.
