I was suckered in by their commercials which advertise a free credit report, its also in the name. On their website they advertise that they need to charge you $1 which they say they will donate. I figured for a buck I would sign up. What they dont tell you, or at least make easily known, is that you are signing up for a $14.95 monthly service.
This is buried in their terms of service. You have 7 days to cancel or they will bill you. Once they bill you they will NOT give you a refund and even the credit card company will not do a chargeback since they say it is in their terms of service.
So my advice here is avoid freecreditreport.com and find other alternatives that truly do offer a free credit report. Or else just make sure you cancel prior to 7 days and make sure you get the persons employee ID and you get a confirmation number. I failed to do this and got billed for a second month!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: When you order your $1 Credit Report and free Score here, you will begin your 7-day trial membership in Triple Advantage. If you don't cancel your membership within the 7-day trial period*, you will be billed $14.95 for each month that you continue your membership. You may cancel your trial membership anytime within the trial period without charge.
The above information is from the TOP of the FreeCreditReport.Com website. It's the very first thing shown, right above "Member Login". Further, it is stated in all commercials I have seen from them. You are correct in stating once you get charged, the credit card company cannot assist you, since you do agree to the terms of service when signing up.
If you want a real free credit report, you have to go to the site specifically set up for that, which will provide you a free report from each of the three agencies once a year.
