Freedom Resource ripoff deceptive company Woodstock Georgia
I have recently moved over to America to do my Masters. I wanted to build up a good credit rating in case I wanted to get a loan, so I thought it would be a good idea to get a credit card. I was contacted by Freedom Resource, who said I was eligible to receive a $2500 credit card, as well as other discounts and benefits, all for the price of $221.95.
I would get $100 rebate, and there would be 0% interest. I thought this sounded pretty good, so I allowed them to debit money from my account. I was told I would receive my card in 15-21 days. Three weeks went and I didn't hear anything. I rang and they said they were having computer problems, but the card should be sent out in two weeks time. So I patiently waited. Two weeks past, and again nothing had been sent. I rang consistently every couple of weeks but there was always an excuse "our computers are down", "it will be sent next week".
All I received, after two months of waiting, was a packet of "benefits" I could receive, such as new and used car services, discount real estate services, and discount magazine subscriptions. However, to be eligible for these benefits, I need to send in another $5-$15. What is this??? It has now been over two months and I have no card, and I am $221.95 out of pocket. I enquired about a refund, and apparently I need to fill out a form that they said they would send me (which of course I have not yet received) and there would be a $25 processing fee.
I am not paying a processing fee for anything. I am completely unhappy with this company, and would warn anyone that would even think about having anything to do with this company.
