Please beware of shady FrontPoint Security cancellation policy. I was with this company for over six and a half years. As new technology came out, I decided to switch over to something that made more sense for my family. I figured it would be no big deal to call and cancel the service. To my surprise, i waited on hold for almost 35 minutes to speak with someone in the cancellation Department. Upon speaking with Alain Hernandez, he informed me that I would have to respond to an e-mail to cancel the service. I went ahead and replied to the email while on the phone with him. He then proceeded to inform me that although it was September 4, 2018 I was going to be billed the rest of September and October as they need 30 days notice to cancel service. I asked who is it that I can speak to to have the charges waived. He informed me that there was no supervisor available to speak to and said that he can leave a message and they would get back to me in 72 hours. The company basically tried to squeeze me out of $86 for services that were not rendered. I will be contacting the Attorney General's office and the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau to inform them about their deceitful business practices when cancelling an account.
In addition, I was currently paying $43 per month with FrontPoint Security and the ring alarm system provides the same exact service with live monitoring for $10. They went ahead and tried to keep me as a customer and offered to lower the bill to $33 per month, in which I told him I was not interested. I just want make every consumer aware of Frontpoint Security deceitful cancellation policy.
