I will make this short and to the point.

My elderly Mother-in-Law went into Future Ford in Concord to buy a Ford Explorer. She wanted to be independent and go alone, so I did preliminary research for her on the intenet, and the average retail price of the vehicle with everything she wanted was from $29,000-$31,000.

She went into Future Ford, and they hammered her for 8 straight hours, and got her totally confused. In the end, they charged her $39,000, and gave her $8000 for a trade-in, so she only saw that she was paying $31,000, and thought that was the right price.

The selling price was $10,000 over retail, and $7-8000 over MSRP. They also gave her $8,000 for an $11,000 trade in vehicle. (Private sale would have been $16000 to $17000 on her 2 year old Honda SUV)

Do the math, they ripped her off for $12,000.00 to $13,000.00!

I called to complain, and the sales manager promised to call back, but of course, he never did.

I complained to the District Attorney, but unfortunately, my mother in law cannot remember enough details after being harassed and lied to for 8 hours to put together a statement.

Future Ford knows exactly what they did, and the salesman and the salesmanager belong in prison!!!!

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! And Future Ford, I am never going away, I will post this blog info FOREVER, and post it everywhere I can. You know you ripped off this poor old lady, and you could care less.

I've posted about this before. Every chance I get. Every time my Dad has gone to get a new vehicle, I've gone with him to make sure he doesn't get screwed. The last time he went without me, I didn't know he was going. He went to northpark lincoln merc. They took his 98 merc with 60k miles as a trade-in and sold him a new one for $22k. He comes by to show me his new purchase and tells me about his "good deal". I said "But Dad, they're selling them for $22k WITHOUT a trade-in". They got his trade-in for frickin free. She DID want to be "independant and go alone" and now she's paying for it. Scumbag car dealer.

"She wanted to be independent and go alone..." When someone makes an issue of "wanting to be independent" take it as a warning sign..... Heck, I will take all the help I can get. I had a local Ford Dealer try to fool me by Padding the LIST price of a new current-year Miata by $1000 and then he "discounted" that padded price by $1000 to show me a "great deal". I said thanks and left. Obviously your MIL had a far worse treatment. Car dealers see older people as easier marks and older people also have money. Why do car dealers mistreat older people this way? It is like Dillinger once said about why he robbed banks: "Because that is where the money is."
