Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

This company took $200.00 from my checking account. I don't have an account with this company.

When I called the number provided I talked with a person with a foriegn accent. He asked for my social security # which I gave him. He could not find an account. He then asked for my phone number which I gave him.

The person on the phone then asked if I knew,he then gave me their names.I said I do know them. He said tell them to call him. I said I want my money returned. He then said I can not discuss this information with you.

So I am left with no way to communicate with these people. This goes beyond a rip off

It sounds like that someone you know, and the rep named them may have used your information. Thats identity theft. You need to report to the police about this so you have a record in case you have to fight this. I would also suggest that you DO NOT confront the ppl the rep named before filing a police report. This is not a ripoff. Atleast not by this company. Yes it was your money but they dont know that until you have filed a complaint. If this was some form of online order or phone order, then the company provided its service. Maybe not to you, but they did do something and do expect to get paid for it. Continue trying to work up the food chain on this one. If it is indeed Identity theft them you need to get on top of this as FAST as you can. waiting simply puts you in a bad situation. There is no clue as to how bad the theft actually is. Normally it takes several years to sort out identity theft. I would also suggest that you close and reopen your account, this way they or the thieves no longer have access to your cash. Then as you are working with this company, have them cut you a paper check instead of direct deposit to your account.

This does go beyond a RipOff...it sounds more like Identity Theft and Fraud.

Perhaps you should ask this person you know why they used your Checking Account Information to make a payment?   Because if they did this without your knowlege and concent they commited a crime..and even though the amount is only $200 in many States it is a FELONY.

Unfortunatly if you know the person just about every company will default to not refunding the money.  So your only option is to get the person to pay you back.  If they refuse you can sue them, or in worse case situation report the theft to your bank.  If your bank refunds the money, they will then go after the person who did it.  Banks are very serious about things like this and they will have the person arrested and prosecuted.  Because you are no longer out any money(remember it was credited back) you have zero say in the actions the bank take.  Just something to think about.
