I too have a Buick Century 2000, that I bought new and I am having the same problem as this person is having, only at 25,000 miles they said they put in a new motor & now I have added 8000 miles on the new motor & the same problem is accuring again, (when the car is cold in the morning the Pistons are loud.) The Buick Company where I take my car for serivce has been very nice to me so far, they are the ones that suggested the new motor, but I just took it in tonight for the same problem so I am waiting to hear from them tomorrow.

I read the complaint about the Century 2000 and have expierenced the same problem plus other problems. I feel I have a lemon! Along with the "tappet" noise in the morning, to which I have taken to two local Buick dealers who say, "It's nothing to worry about", I also had the transmission lock up in the first 3,000 miles. That they replaced, no poblem. I've had the passenger front door "fixed" THREE times- another problem they say is "common" it sticks! Well it's going back for the fourth time tomorrow! Also the "low tire" light comes on repeatedly- their answer to this was to show me where to reset it all the time in the fuse area. This car was purchased at Betton in Grand Haven, MI, that was my first mistake was buying out of town. What a hassle. Fortunately the local Muskegon dealership, Witt Buick has done my last two repairs and will forever be my dealer of choice. While the door and the light are minor irritants- they are still a problem. Of most concern is the piston noise and I agree, there should be a re-call. I would trade mine in, but with less then 20,000 miles it seems like such a loss. Trade in value is $10,000.00 less then purchase price!
