Warning!!! Do Not buy from this company. They are not honest, they are deceitful and their customer service is unacceptable.
On January 27, 2008 I ordered a 3500watt residual generator for $427.99 charged to my credit card. The full amount was paid off in February,2008 while waiting for delivery of item.
After ordering I waited and waited for notification of shipment. Hearing nothing by March,2008 I called the company several times and e:mailed several times but to avail. No response from company.
By early April, I received notification of shipment. Within a month I heard nothing so I called Fedx to track generator and found that it had arrived in Portland, Or. damaged. I instructed Fedx to return package to sender.
I called Generators Direct to inform them of damage to generator. They in turn were to file a claim with Fedx for payment due to the damage of item for $427.99, which they have done.
The end of May, I contacted generators direct and got a man who said he was a manager (Ariel is his name) to request a credit of $427.99 to my credit card, Ariel said he would look into it and call me back. Again, no return calls!
Again I called and spoke to Ariel who said my credit card had been credited. I explained to him that I had seen no credit on any of my statements. He told me to check again, which I did, still no credit. I called Ariel right back and he became angry and rude and said my card company had taken the money from his company and that it was not his problem any more.
So here it is June 9, 2008 and I have yet to receive my money back and no generator!! I have filed a dispute claim with my credit card company to try to assist me in this issue.
So genertors direct has my money and will be paid again by Fedx for the damaged generator that I never received. I'm angry and frustrated. and I see based on your other reports, that they have cheated others as well.
Generators Direct is also affilliated with a realty company in Fl. called Dak Realty. So be aware folks........Don't buy anything from these people. They don't seem to know the meaning of honesty or good customer service!
