An ad for a good deal for a pair of crimping pliers popped up on my Facebook feed. There are used to attach electrical connectors to wire, mostly used in automotive and electronic applications. I ordered the item and was charged $19.49. A few weeks later I recieved a small box of 50 electrical connectors but no pliers. I looked the ad up and found that although there were lots of pictures of these pliers in use, I had inadvertantly clicked on an adjoining box for the connectors only. I contacted the seller via email and asked for a refund or to pay the difference between what I wanted and what I ordered. Here is their reply:
" We are very sorry for such destabilizing encounters you have been faced with. I want you to know that we have observed some crucial information in your complaint regarding our products and services. Apologies but we only offer a refund or exchange for items that are defected upon delivery."
I protested, pointing out how much we valued honesty and integrity here in America and expressed my hope that they would learn a lesson from this experience. They replied with another meaningless generic response and I never heard from them again. I believe this website is based offshore.
They have no brick and mortar address. The item was shipped via a third party, SF Express out of Jamaica, New York. I told them I would be filing this report in a few days and wished them good luck with their english lessons. Tried to look up this 50-pc. connector set on Amazon, but found nothing. I did find a 600-pc. set for $16.99 with free shipping ...

Lets talk facts: I urge all readers of this post to visit these two links before they are taken down. One is for a pair of wire-crimping pliers for $21.99 and the other is for a wire terminals crimper kit for $13.50:

If these links fail, see the last page (13) of their results under tools-home improvement.
You will see the pliers featured prominently throughout each ad. In fact there are 13 pictures of the pliers, even a video claiming what a wonderful, versatile tool this is.
In fact both ads are absolutely 100% identical! The only difference is the price. In fact, looking at the website, the casual shopper is led to believe he gets a much better deal buying the kit as it is $8.49 cheaper than the pliers.
Its only when he purchases the item that he discovers the scam. As stated in my original message to them, I guess, technically I did make a mistake. I fell for their ploy.
I requested either a refund or offered to pay the difference ($8.49) to get the pliers. That seemed reasonable. I even expected I would have to pay for return shipping and was fine with that (They charged me $5.99 shipping. I bet I could have sent the item back for 2 dollars).
However, the customer support team at gogetgotten.com decided it was more to their advantage to keep the $19.49 than do the honorable thing; choosing short-term profit over long-term gain.
I warned them what was coming. Look how they reacted.
As to blaming me for not buying it locally, I guess that is my fault too. Fact is I live in a rural part of Ohio. I do a lot of online shopping. It saves me a lot of time and gas money. It is a 90-minute round trip for me to drive to either Lowes, Home Depot or Menard's.
So, using their twisted, convoluted brand of logic, it is indeed all my fault. I should have known better. I should have had a lawyer proofread their ad before making my purchase. I got just what I deserve for trusting them in the first place. Yes, gogetgotten.com, you are right.
I thought I was buying something from an honest online broker. I was wrong.

You fully admitted you made the mistake on what you ordered. They fully told you they only do refunds on damaged items. What's the big deal? This isn't their fault, but yours.
More importantly, I know exactly the tool you're talking about. Why on earth would you buy it this way when you can go into a local store, see what you're buying and get it the same day?
