GForce performance chips not much of a guarantee Internet
purchased GForce performance chip for my 05 BMW and was sold on it by their website. Gave it to my mechanic to install and he refused- said for me to research on the internet before doing it. found a few reviews that actually said it robbed horsepower and lowered the fuel usage by 4 MPG.
Was looking for something to increase the MPG and possibly add a little more power. Not a radical difference but was looking to do better than 20 MPG on a 330Xi. They all claimed that their chip would do that on all the websites.
Called GForce and told them what the internet was saying about their product. Thet said that all their chips were tested and dyno proven to work- i asked for MY car? they said for ALL cars and could not provide data for my specific car but if i wabnted to return it- no problem.
They neglected to tell me that i paid $69.95 for the chip and about $6 for shipping and handling. it cost me $3 to return it to them, they credited me $51. i called them and they said if i had tried it, i would have gotten the $69 refund. I truely felt that i was going to cause damage to my car with their product and would not risk the installation.
So much for the WARRANTY !!!! they are CROOKS, obviously in it for the money and can only read a generic report about an unknown car and how it improved MPG and horsepower on THAT car, NOT MINE. so i am out almost $30 because i made an informed decision not to install a product that has not been proven to work on my BMW- at least not on paper to me.
I guess Shame on me for not doing more homework and actually believing the advertisements on the internet... Shame on GForce for not telling me about partial credit on returned goods that are still new and unused. not telling me that they cannot provide proof that their product would work on MY BMW, I paid all shipping, I should have been given full credit of $69.95
