These people charged us $708 for practically nothing. We had a faucet with a slight leak that was a Moen retailed at over $400. They "took that" faucet without our permission, replaced it with an American Standard worth only $55 at any wholesaler, and then, charged us $375 on that deal, when the cost of faucet and labor wouldn't have come to more than $80 except that they installed a "used faucet" and took our practically new, expensive one with them.
Then, in the bathroom, we already had the faucet for the tub we wanted put on and control plate. They lied to us and said it wouldn't fit, installed incredibly cheap Delta faucet and control plate...I looked it up it was only worth about $100. On the bathtub deal they charged us a whopping $475. Lied also about the amount of time they were in our home. Said they were there for 5 hours, it was only 2. Lied and said they'd purchased new faucet for sink...didn't have time, and it was obviously a "used one" they had on hand.
Gilbert Plumbing left our home in much worse shape than before we called them. Installed kitchen faucet "crooked angle" and ran the hot and cold water lines into each other somehow so that the cold cancels out the hot and now I run out of hot water EVERYTIME! Gilbert Plumbing is a bunch of crooks with extremely poor workmanship and horrible service! I highly recommend to NOT use Gilbert Plumbing.

Turns out in December of 2009 this complaint was filed on RipOff Report against a plumber in North Carolina who admitted it was his work. You can see the complaint that somebody copied and pasted at http://www.ripoffreport.com/home-improvements/plumbing-service-co/plumbing-service-co-owner-mat-bd392.htm

anonymous is either a
disgruntled former employee, competitor, or confused about who did their work.
We do not stock nor have we bought or installed any American Standard faucets
in the past 6 years.
When
Gilbert Plumbing is called out to repair a leaking faucet, we have the training
and parts to repair your faucet. We would never replace it with another faucet
unless the customer asked us to do so or unless the faucet was so old that it
was beyond repair do to mineral build-up inside the faucet that would cause the
replacement parts to fail again in a very short time. anonymous states this
faucet was practically new, so in 99% of the time we would simply replace a
faulty cartridge. Nor do we store or sell used faucets because we would have to
warranty it. We recycle any material that comes back from the field.
As
for the bathroom, we have yet to run into a problem where a tub faucet wouldnt
fit. Plumbing for faucets come in 3 sizes 3/8, 1/2", or
3/4". A simple copper adapter and some copper pipe would allow a
different size spout to work if there was a sizing conflict. If you purchase a
faucet or fixture because that is what you like, we are more than happy to
install it for you. We only have to look at it when we install it. You will be
looking at it every time you use it.
Gilbert
Plumbing prides itself on leaving your house in the same shape as we found it.
We have testimonials on our website from real customers that attest to that.
Our plumbers do installations in newly constructed houses, remodeled homes,
commercial buildings, etc. We dont install faucets at crooked angles. You
would also really have to go out of the way to build something that would
cancel out hot water at a faucet. Most likely this is a water heater problem.
We
log all our service calls and have no record of doing the job described above.
If this was in fact our company that did shoddy work as described, anonymous
would have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Our BBB
rating is A+ with no complaints in their 3 year reporting period. You can see
that at http://www.bbb.org/central-northern-western-arizona/business-reviews/plumbing-contractors/gilbert-plumbing-company-in-mesa-az-97010295/. They could have also filed a
complaint with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors for poor work, but they
havent done that either. You can see on the ROC website that we have no open
complaints, nor do we have any closed complaints. That information can be found
here on the ROC website http://win.azroc.gov/forms/details.asp?license=258537.
Gilbert
