Just this past saturday, I received a letter from Global Financial Inc. with a check for $2900. When I first opened I thought, what will I have to buy? The letter told me that my name was picked along with 36 other winners out of 500,000 names, and that the 2900 was for the taxes on the 100,000 that I won.
Not really buying into it I called the number on the letter, and spoke with Tony Johnson, who when he answered the phone just said hello, no introduction of himself or his company. So anyways he congradulated me on my winnings, and said that all I need to do was deposit the check, and then call him after I did it. He wouldn't give me any details of how his company had my name, he just asked me if I shopped at Walmart, and of corse I said yes.
Still concerned, I called him again, just to make sure this was true. He said no one was frauding me, and that he was trying to give me money, not take any away. So I told him I was going to deposit the check on Monday.
Doing some homework on his company, I didn't have to look very far to see that this is fake and that Tony Johnson is a big fat liar. Thanks to everyone else who reported him. I called him today, to tell him all the bad things I read about him, and he still stuck by his script saying that it wasn't true what I was reading, and that I should not bother with depositing the check. Thanks to all who wrote about this, since the reason I didn't deposit the check was because of all you wrote.
