After seeing an advertisement on TV for a 15' X 24' pool "from as low as" $299.00, my wife called and set an appointment for a sales rep to visit.

The rep was courteous and pleasant. His presentation started with the hundreds of satisfied customers, the heavy gauge lining, (lifetime warranty) and all the advantages of their ionic filter system.

When I asked about the $299 pool we were advised the warranties described in the previous paragraph did NOT apply. WE HAD to purchase a pool starting at $6,500.00 to get the better quality!

I insisted on more information on the $299 pool. I was told that the liner was only 10 mil (slightly thicker than some trash bags) and that Global-Sun didn't or wouldn't install it!

Delivery of the $299 pool was an additional $395, though we were given the option of picking it up ourselves in Atlanta (4 hours away).

The rep informed us that they STILL would not deliver or allow us to pick it up unless a list of almost unachieavable parameters were not only met, but verified and photographed.

When we declined, the rep, according to company policy, called his supervisor, he asked to speak to me. The supervisor was argumentative but offered me the "best" deal he could as a "demonstrator pool" ... $6,500 and he was deceptive as he called it a "15' x 15' pool which is a square. When I asked if it was square, he said "No, it's round, 15' in diameter."

Again, I declined; he said would give his numbers to his rep who would run them by me again. However, I had already made up my mind not to buy from this company.

This company should be investigated by consumer reports, Better Business Bureau, or whatever company is necessary to protect the public from these types of businesses.

I am a global sun pool owner. There product is great but I had a terrible time with the install. They tell you one thing and the paperwork says another. Do not sign their contract unless you are prepared to pay. They threatened and also put a lien againt my home. Do not give them a copy of your deed of trust. The installers are shotty and caused over $3000.00 damage to our drainage system. Guess what they refuse to pay and unless you live in Nevada you have no recourse. Think before you buy from them. and if you do have a lawyer read their contracts. They are confusing and always fault in their favor and not yours. I want get burned by them again.

As I have stated in another rebuttal, I have my contract here beside me waiting to be signed. I have read numerous complaints from other consumers, but they tend to be just about financing problems, requiring a SS# prior to the sales appointment, etc. There have been a few complaints regarding the actual pool itself. There is little mention of the craftsmanship or service after the sale. I am still in the dark as to the quality of the pool! If I decide to continue with my purchase, I will pay with a cashiers check, so the problems that most have reported will not pertain to my husband and me. While reading the contract, the hair on my arms raised up a little over things like the warranty. It seems the warranty implied by the salesman is not the same as in the contract. Most everything folks in here have seemed so surprised by are right there in my contract, in black and yellow. That is except the expense to be incurred by the purchaser in case of malfunction of many of the components. I am otherwise pleased with the conditions of the contract, for the most part and do not have to deal with the financial process. I need to know what in the world is wrong with the pool itself. I'm purchasing the Mid-line. That is, if I decide to go on with the deal. My only skepticism now is coming from so many displeased customers reporting in Rip-off Report, but I need info about the POOL. Any comments?
