I contacted Sam at Globe and he assured me that he could accurately estimate my shipping costs on the phone. I asked about extra insurance for antiques and special items. He said that basic insurance would cover those things. I told him that I would pack all but ny kitchen. I also said I would need 10 wardrobe boxes.

The quote was $4301.

On moving day, Ben arrived with a crew. He told my husband (I was in Denver already), that Sam had underestimated by a lot, and that the extra charge would be up to $7000. He asked my husband to sign a blank paper, indicating he would pay anything that was enbtered on that document. We had already rented our townhouse, and had to move, so we negotiated with Rashon on the phone for 2 hours and finally came up with a figure of $6350. I had packed virtually everything, but they claimed that we had $1900 worth of packing. They wanted to charge us for extra steps, claiming that a "normal" flight of steps was less than the number of steps that we had to the second floor. We were over a barrel and needed to move forward.

They brought a truck too small for our goods. They put items below the house in a storage area that the landlord owned, supposedly til the next morning. Some of the items they put there were handled roughly and damaged. They kept my husband waiting until 8PM the next night for the pickup, and never came until after he left in frustration.

When the truck arrived in Denver, our queen and double mattresses were strapped to the back of the truck that had just driven 1000 miles! I lost it! I called Rashon and he basically said that it was not his problem and hung up. The driver would not open the truck until we produced a postal money order. A cashiers check was not OK.

The mattresses were ruined. An antique table was broken. Upholstered furniture was improperly packed and needs to be reupholstered. Suits, dresses and lots of clothing that were to be on hangers were dumped into boxes and need to be professionally pressed. Tables were bumped and scratched or gouged. Both mattresses and box springs are ruined.

The driver did sign for 5 items that he said were "broken" and he said we would be fully reimpbused for them; the external insurance company says that is not true. We have obtained the services of an attorney.

This is a terrible and dishonest company that should not be allowed to do business. The entire sales and management are involved in a fraudulent scheme. Anyone wishing to take class action should include us in their client list.
