Claiming that I have been approved for grants ranging from 8-25,000 dollars.
The only thing was I would be paying someone at their office to do all of the paperwork after we do the application. Now, they had my home address and cell number. They asked me for a bank account number so that the fee of $257.00 would be transferred from my bank to their bank. I was give a date of Dec. 23, 2004 to give my authorization of the transfer.
I did not give them an account number, for at the time all I had was my ATM card. I read off the numbers on the back on the card. They then told me they were not able to use that. So then I asked them to call me back at 8:00 pm the same night, no answer. They proceeded to have me talk to another person in which would be able to give a routing number for my bank. I explained again, that all I had was my ATM card, and that I was told, that it was not sufficient for the transaction. So then they put me line with another person that claimed to the supervisor.
Now they have my first 8 numbers of my ATM card but no PIN. Home phone number and address. After I had been contacted, not even 5-10 min. My business partner was called by the same company.
