Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
We bought our mobile home in 2000 from conseco. We were young and desperate for our own place to live.We bought the home for 21,000 9 yrs later we still owe 18,800.

How is this possible after nine years when we financed for 15 yrs. This makes no since.A month ago when we checked the payoff was 17,200. How in the hell can it jump up that much in a month when we have paid on time?

Also about a year after we bought the mobile home we wanted to refinance but when we tried they said we couldn't because there were taxes owed on the home from a previous owner.

How can we be responsible for someone elses taxes. We are being punished just as if we didn't pay our own taxes which we do every year.

It does not state anywhere on our contract that we would agree to pay someone elses taxes. Who would? So now when do pay it off I am afraid we may not even get a title to the home.

This is not fair! There should be some kind of law against this! I am thinking of telling them to come pick the thing up cause your not getting another dime from us.

Conseco not in mortgage business since 2003

In 1998, Conseco FINANCIAL purchased Green Tree financial (GTF). The owners of GTF LIED on their financials: they had many non-performing loans that were hidden from Conseco Financial. This subsequently caused Conseco Financial to go into bankruptcy. In 2003, Conseco emerged from bankruptcy: this is found on the FREE LIBRARY website: http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Conseco+gets+approval+to+leave+bankruptcy.(Companies)(Brief+Article)-a0109904858 "A plan for reorganizing a firm during the Chapter 11 bankruptcy process has been approved by the court, paving the way for the company to come out of bankruptcy as an insurance-only operation." Conseco no longer has a mortgage business, so take care when slandering the company, lest you be served with a civil suit. I am not a direct employee of Conseco, but work for a subsidiary, PMA.
