So it doesn't sound like it is exactly like you were describing in the beginning. So what proof do you have of your claim?
Do you have a Police Report for the Hit & Run?
Do you have any witnesses?
Do you have a Doctors Report for your Injuries?
What proof was done to your truck?
If you have solid proof of damages and of your injuries that they should cover then if they don't offer you what you want, then you may have to file a suit against them. But if you have no police report, you didn't go to the doctor and there is no obvious damage to your truck then you probably are not going to get what you want.

When you got this policy did you tell them you had a heavy duty bumper?? I also have one (called a Ranch Hand Bumper) as well as Ranch Hand Grill Guard. Once I bought the truck I did tell my insurance company so they would note in on my policy. Not throwing stones just asking.

This is an update only. The adjuster is the person doing the lying. 02/20/2011, I had an accident, a car backed into me at a high rate of speed. I have a 1,500 P/U with a heavy duty bumper. (The bumper is made of steel pipe.) Hartford wants to apply the 5 mile an hour bumper rule and they should not because of my heavy duty steel bumper. The impact force was transmitted to the inside of my cab. I was injured and Hartford will not acknowledge the fact. The adjuster informed me there was no investigation

They either didn't investigate and only say your claim was denied, or they lied and changed the facts.
It can not be both, so which one is it?
