A friend of mine really needed a loan and had bad credit. She was contacted by someone who said they found a place that would give her a loan despite her credit. She went to the hawkinsgroup website and everything looked legit and she talked to the company who had her send in a downpayment of $750. She did that and waited and waited. They said her loan was approved and she would have it in 10 days. Then all of the sudden they wanted her to send in $750 more before the loan could be processed. This put up a red flag for her and she said forget it and asked for her initial payment back. They said they would put her down for a refund in her file and send her downpayment back within 10-15 days. It has been 20 days now and she still has not gotten her money back. She can only get a hold of the company now calling from a foreign number because they recognize her number when she calls and don't answer. When she does get through she will talk to someone who always says her check is in the mail and they can't tell her what day it was sent or she ends up getting disconnected. After I found these reports on line she knows now that she will never get her money back and is devastated.
I am outraged at this company and the fact that they are obviously getting away with taking tons of money from people and no one is doing anything about it. DO NOT trust this company or any others like it on the internet. DO YOUR RESEARCH!
