Hartsfield,#5UPDATE EX-employee responds
Mon, September 10, 2012
I was reading this report, and I am very glad I did. It made me feel so much better about my encounter with Health Care Services Group.
Around June 2012 I get a phone call from this gentleman who found my resume on Monster and wanted to set up an interview for a Dietary Manager's position that he had available locally. I just finished my Certified Dietary Manager's course the month before and I did advise him that I have not taken my test yet. His response was that is what his company is looking for and it would be fine. I was set up for an interview the next day.
I went to the interview and the Manager "Paul" that I interviewed with seemed extremely interested in me. But the interview process seemed rushed. I did the interview with him and before I knew it, I was filling out new employee paperwork and tax information. I asked him does this mean I got the job to which he responded "It means you have a great chance at getting the job!". I was set up for a second job interview. But the whole time I had a lingering feeling inside that something was shady.
Second interview with a "Scott" a few days later. We sat and talked for about 15 minutes and he told me that he wanted to offer me a position. I was so thrilled I was crying. But still.. it just seemed like the whole process was moving like a dream. I filled out the remainder of the paperwork and he told me to call him Monday and we would talk about salary.
Monday I talked to him and he said the company agreed to my salary. He told me to call him Friday to see if the background check came back. I called Friday and he did not answer his phone at all. Finally on Monday when I could not get him, I called the original guy that called me and they said they were still waiting on my background check.
Meanwhile, I found out from a buddy of mine that he was also hired with HCSG and he got the same job that I did and was suppose to start in the same place. Curious and upset about this, I called Paul back to which he gave me a run around and said there were plenty of positions to fill.
So I wait for my background check for almost 3 weeks total and when I can start and the next thing I know I get an email from the training manager (who I never met) saying that I was not going to be working for this company.
I could not believe it!! What kind of company hires you, get you and your family all excited and then sends you an email saying you don't have a job?
When I read your report about how they hire people off the streets that have no training at all, I can verify that 100%. I was told that they like it that way because they can train you to be how they want. I had no experience when they so called hired me and I was going to be a Certified Dietary Manager. I don't believe they ever called my references or anything.
Thanks for your report. I've been kickin myself wondering what I did wrong, but the bad feeling I had was right the whole time!

i am an employee with the same company and i agree with what was said. i've been with healthcare services group for a little over 2 years and have had 4 managers and 4 district managers none of which were trained properly to do their job. part of the time we don't have what we need to do our jobs, we done without toilet bowl cleaner for almost 2 months and disinfectant to clean with for 2 weeks and then are told by our district manager that the building is disgusting. i love my job but i don't love the company . our manager was sent to another building to work we were told he would be back this week and our district manager told me and a coworker yesterday that he wasn't coming back but they hadn't told him.thats wrong. the district and regional managers only care about the bonuses they get for saving money they have no regards for the regular employees. i was told to get on my hands and knees and scrub bathroom floors that's not going to happen, i'm 51 years old and i do my job but i won't be treated that way.
