i have a 2nd mortgage with homecoming financial for about 5 yrs or so. 2 weeks ago i recieved a letter saying that i owed for april, may and june and they needed $1467 or they would forclose. i called them right away and after 2 hours on the phone and talking to about 4 different people i found out that 16 months ago(march 2006) my payment went up $43 a month.

so for the past 16 months i have sent the wrong amount in and nobody called me or wrote me a letter or anything. now $43 a month times 16 comes to $688. where do the get $1467. nobody down there can tell me, the just repeat the same thing over and over. we have not recieved a payment since march.

in the mean time i have sent a letter to dispute the amount, along with proof of every payment sent for the last 2yrs(did that last week) called again last night still the same story, i owe april, may and june payments.

how could a company take your money for 16 months and not tell you that your paying the wrong amount. they are trying to scam me and its not fair, i wont pay it, they cant forclose on a 2nd mortgage, they wouldnt get the house... am i right

No, they can't repo the house

However, I would be asking this question... If this was a fixed-rate second, how did your payment go up? That is what I would be asking Homecomings...
