We refinanced our home in april 2002, our contract if for 30 years and we will be penalized if we prepay in the 1st 3 yrs. In May 2002, homecomings financial paid our back taxes, which had already been paid from the proceeds at the refinance. They reanalyzed our impound account and adjusted our payment to be higher than we had we told we would pay due to them paying these taxes. We faxed them a copy of the cancelled check proving we had already paid these taxes and to adjust and correct our account. They requested a refund from the county tax office and received it in 9/02. These numnuts applied the refund they received to our principal in error on 12/02. In 2/03 they disbursed their investors the money and charged my impound account for these funds. Now they are asking me to make a mortgage payment of twice the amount for the next 12 months, but they can help by adjusting it for the next 2 yrs by $200, really helps since that is still over $500 more in payments per month that I can't afford. i called them when i received my bill for 5/03 and in the discussion they said they admitted to making a mistake but that they could not fix it since they had already paid their investors. I have worked very hard to clean up my credit for them to come around and make a mistake and not take care of it. Well they apparently corrected the problem, however, my payment is still not what it should be, they apparently made all the adjustments, however the payment still is more than what i have been originally paying, how can that be.
