I contacted Homesafe America in Levitown, NY to help me with a loan modification. My husband was out of work for 6 months and we needed help so we would not lose our home. After talking with Homesafe who claimed they could help us and this person, Richard Gates, kept telling us that it was a 100% money back if they could not help us. I checked out the company as much as any consumer could and found nothing on them, but of course I was wrong. I did send them a partial payment and all the necessary documents, which was all our personal information and financial information. It didn't take long before I realized they were a ripoff. I had to cancelled my cards and accounts so they could not take anymore money.
However, for us it was too late. While Homesafe claimed to be working on our file, I came home to find a notice of foreclosure on my door. I called Homesafe immediately to tell them and I was told Richard Gates would call me back. I called the bank and they stated no one from Homesafe contaced them. I was sick. I called back only to speak to another person and be hung up on. My husband tried to call and received the same treatment once they knew it was us. I called the States Attorney General and reported them and the BBB of Metropolitian New York. The BBB was told they would send us a refund but to date we have never received a refund.
BEWARE of Homesafe America or any company who asks for money up front on a loan modification. The names of the employees that I spoke with at Homesafe are: Richard Gates, Angel Gonzales, Ruppa, Guy Samuel. Guy Samuel and Scott Schrieber are co-owners of this ripoff company.
Also, this is a good one. After all this mess I received a call from Angel Gonzales asking me for the rest of the money so they could continue the process. What a joke!

Homesafe America has done nothing for us unless you consider getting a loan modification approved for payments higher than our original regular payments. They will not return email or phone correspondence since we are now requesting they live up to what they had promised us in the beginning, a money back guarantee if they could not do more for us than we had already done ourselves. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY ON THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY. They have actually put us in a worse position than when we acquired their services. Fast talkers.... I second your comment, "What a joke!"
