Anyone have a couple days grace period on their credit card? NOT with this company.

Try to make your payment on time a day before it is due. Use the convenient on line feature so you will have electronic proof. Nope they charge you a rush fee of $12.95. Pay it on a weekend, or one day late and be charged $35.00 that they will not waive even as a one time courtesy.

Try to talk to an American you can understand and vice versa, near impossible.

Most of the time their web site has problems, how convenient.

They want you to mail it so they can say they did not get it and charge you.

Owe this bank a mortgage payment or other payment from a revolving loan? They charge you $10.00 to make an electronic payment ON TIME or early.

Household Finance Company aka HFC and HSBC the parent company are RIPOFFS. Be smart go to other companies, I am! HFC use to be a reputable company years ago, they cared, it was like a neighborhood bank, but now they are greedy, evil business people who do not care about people, just the $$$$$.

The BEST way to deal with HSBC and their affiliates.

Regardless of what "pin heads" may say, you are correct HSBC IS a RIPOFF ARTIST! Knowing this, the BEST way to deal with them is do what I am doing. 1. Cancel the card(s) and NEVER use HSBC, HFC and so on. 2. Pay off the balance as soon as you possibly can - this is important to ensure you don't keep paying the EXHORBITANT 30% plus rates. You are better off to go borrow from a bank, loan company, etc., sell everything you can, just do whatever you can do to pay off HSBC and their EXHORBITANT (SHOULD BE CRIMINAL) rates. 3. Check ALL other credit cards for affiliation with HSBC, they are sneeky (SHOULD BE CRIMINAL) and hide out behind a number of "small-name" banks, etc. 4. Do what I did and QUIT using ANYbody affiliated with HSBC! I will never darken the doors of Best Buy for example. You can ALWAYS buy ANYthing any company affiliated with HSBC has, and do so at a better price anyway. There are many reputable, high end companies on the internet, and you trade sales tax for shipping, or if you do your homework, in many cases won't have to pay either. I cannot begin to tell you the times I have saved as much as 50% just by buying via the internet. Obviously, ther are RIP OFF ARTISTS on the internet also, but do your homework, there are more good than bad. 5. This one is VERY important! Start blogging, e-mailing, etc. anyplace you can to notify others of the RIPOFF tactics HSBC (and their affiliates) (SHOULD BE CRIMINAL) use to fleece the average consumer. 6. Train yourself to use cash (debit cards) everywhere possible! I have eliminated numerous credit cards, not just from HSBC, even many of the reputable (NON CRIMINAL) credit card companies that have decent rates. I have just found that it is REDICULOUS paying 5% - 30% more than sale price for something that is just going to depreciate in value anyway. 7. Look back at your financial well-being after a year of operating like this and you will be amazed! Good Luck!

'Anyone have a couple days grace period on their credit card?' --No, no one does. 'Try to make your payment on time a day before it is due. Use the convenient on line feature so you will have electronic proof. Nope they charge you a rush fee of $12.95.' --What does this even mean? NOTHING is stopping you from making this transaction. 'Pay it on a weekend, or one day late and be charged $35.00 that they will not waive even as a one time courtesy.' --Yes, that's the way it works. Again, NOTHING stopped you from paying it on time. You get the statement well in advance of the due date. I do it every month with no problem and that's by mailing in a check. 'Most of the time their web site has problems, how convenient.' --But you can mail it in well in advance of the due date. 'They want you to mail it so they can say they did not get it and charge you.' --Has never happened to me in all the years I've had the card. 'Be smart go to other companies, I am!' --Don't be shocked to find out that others are no different because, that's just the way it works in the real world. We look forward to your fraudulent complaint against them also.
