How nice, how pleasant, how polite, how easy to get a credit card from Orchard Bank once you are on your own, female, divorcee, and never had to deal with credit cards, credit reports, credit scores, etc your former mate handled all of that. How wonderful the picture was painted by the representative of Orchard Bank/HSBC when my card was approved. I was encouraged to use my card right away pay off the amount and watch my credit report and scores improve. I could establish credit for myself. I had a way to secure a motel room for a vacation and more because some places in my part of the world without that precious piece of plastic you cannot do simple things such as get DISH TV, Cell phone services, and other things as a couple I could do. Watch the dream turn into a nightmare apply for one of their cards. I called to make a payment on my account I know we all make type o errors yet I have never made a typing error that skipped an entire legal process, no attorney, no mounds of paper work, no going to credit improvement classes, no court, no judge no thousands of dollars of fees. I just made my payment over the phone and got a free bankruptcy on my credit history and a credit score to match the IQ of the employee of HSBC. Then I get a call from a supervisor of the company card services we are sorry but you need to make another payment to us now instead of a simple minimum payment I got charged late fees, past due amount fees, and more to the tune of over $100.00 dollars. However, my check cleared the bank on my first payment so they made a bundle on that transaction. I had an employee laugh think it was the funniest thing he had ever heard was told do not worry it will be off your report in a few more years. I had to hire a lawyer to get it removed and it took months. There is no way either to make a free payment on your account either do not fall for the on line payment bull either you will have your payment posted on the wrong day, sometimes you do not even get the payment posted and the nightmare of fees begins again. If you are ever late you will be called day and night for weeks on end. I was called at 3am until 1 am for the entire day. Then it went on for weeks and weeks no matter what I did. I would rather sell my soul to the company store or the devil. I would rather get a loan from a loan shark or from the mafia and have my legs broken than ever deal with this company again. Do Not get a card or have anything to do with this company. They are not afraid of the FCC, a state attorney general office or God Himself. Beware my friends of a ripoff to top all ripoffs. I am still in the purgatory of trying to pay off my card for two years for some reason the amount never goes down.

Do not purchase the Orchard's Credit Card Insurance.  They  will not cover you in case of unemployment or disability.  They will only take your money and you will get nothing in return but a big headache!

You will have to fill out form after form and have doctor's certify the note and employer's sign and date and YOU WILL GET NOTHING!  THEY WILL NOT CANCEL YOUR BALANCE BUT YOU GIVE

YOU A BIGGER HEADACHE WHEN YOU NEED THEM!!!! DON'T DO IT..

STAY AWAY FROM ORCHARD CREDIT CARD ........OR YOU WILL BE VERY SORRY!

My story makes no sense then you have never deal with Orchard bank. You are free to talk to my own lawyer too that had the false bankruptcy removed from my credit report. Try this one Orchard Bank admits that an employee hid bankruptcy key instead of a promise to pay key. Via Phone last night an employee says its happened before.

Ann, First of all, I still cannot see the relationship between HSBC / Orchard and your reference to Bankruptcy. Please explain that one in detail. It simply makes no sense. Now, as far as making payments to HSBC, you DO NOT have to pay a fee to do so. You CHOOSE this OPTIONAL method whereby you pay a fee for a CONVENIENCE. There are at least 3 ways to pay your HSBC/Orchard account without incurring a fee. 1. Mail a check or money order! [However, you must allow sufficient mail time]. 2. Do online bill pay directly from your checking account. [Totally FREE at every bank I have dealt with]. 3. Register your account online at the HSBC / Orchard bank site and make a payment there. This is free as well. The problem is, that you are just too irresponsible to make a timely payment, and really cannot afford to have a credit card if you are only making minimum payments. Learn some responsibility, and do not pay your bills at the last minute, and your problems will go away. Guaranteed.
