Hyatt Vacation Club changed their benefits after we bought two timeshare weeks approx 4 years ago in Key West. Part of the ownership experience we were promised included 4O% Owner discounts at their fifteen (15) timeshare properties subject to availability. They have now arbitrarily changed the discount to 10% in Bonita Springs and Breckenridge (I don't have the time to check all locations). While annual fees go up however slightly, they find it incumbent to take away promised benefits. Will need to review the contract fine print (must be allowable) to determine if a class action suit is feasible. I do know I'll jettison these weeks ASAP when the economy turns, as Hyatt can not be trusted. Many of their propertie show up on Hotels.com at greatly discounted rates and if you factor in the innitial investment and the annual fees--it's sometimes cheaper to purchase in this secondary market.
Way to go Hyatt in making your very expensive timeshare program less desirable in a down economy! What a shame as they do have an excellent product.
All prospective buyers--BEWARE of changes which could diminish the value of what you have purchased and certainly not what you were promised in the presentation.
