In November of 2005 my husband and I were flipping channels on the television and caught an infomercial about a vacuum that could convert to a wand vacuum, needed no bags, was powered by its own are circulation and could suck up a refrigerator. We decided to order the vacuum and place our order. The vacuum sales was buy one get one free plus a free steamer. In December I received my credit card statement and there was a charge for $445.63! I immediately telephoned the number on my credit card to Igia and spoke with a representative who told me my order was back ordered and it would ship on Friday. This was on the Monday before Christmas so I asked her why the total was so large and she said I had place a double order for four vacuums!, plus two steamers and two warrenties, and two orders for filters. I told her that I did not want four vacuums and two steamers. She said she would change the order to one vacuum, plus one free and the free steamer and credit my card for the excess of 325.63. She was very helpful and I waited for my January statement for the credit and waited for my vacuum order. I never received my credit or my vacuum. I phoned again in January was told that my order was on back order and the adjustment to my credit card had gone through and my vacuum order would ship out on Friday. I never received my order or a credit to my Citi Bank card. I telephone Citi Bank and they put a hold on my card and said they would mail out a form for me to file. I then called Igia again and they assured me that the credit would take place and my order was in process and I should receive my vacuums within three weeks. I waited and never received them and in February I telephoned Igia again and spoke with a representative who again assured me that my order would arrive and my credit to my card would be there by then end of the day. Again I never received an order or a credit back on my Credit card. On March 20, 2006 I phoned again and requested that my order be cancelled and for them to credit my card. I was assured that the order was cancelled and my credit card would be credited. I then phoned Citi Bank who told me they could not help me because I did not complete some form they said they mailed to me. I cannot get the bank company to help me and Igai has said every day that my credit will be on my card by noon. They said to check my account noon then they said that it would be there by evening. Isn't there something I can do to get my money back? I paid the credit card in full because I thought the balance was from Christmas purchases but they were on a different account. I have been telephonine Citi Bank everyday to check on by account balance and Igia everyday to please reverse the charges and it seems that every representative has the same response. Nothing every happens tho. Watch out for these companies. I will never use the intenet or infomercial to buy anything again.

Social Security before you ever got your money back.... Next time, I bet you cut to the Chase, I mean Citi, and reverse the CC charge pronto and skip the promiseathon. I use an MBNA CC (not the world's favorite) and all I have to do is call them. They then check the situation out. I also follow the account online, and I can file for a reversal online and include screen capture documentation. This is FAST! Online CC acount followup is just as often and just as quick as you want it to be. The paper bill by snailmail is really slow and late.... it's kind of like referring to the dead sea scrolls to manage your CC account.

Since my last update I have found that this Company has been sued by the Singer Company and was fined for not completing orders. The fines were put in an account to refund people who got ripped off by Igia. The number to call to request a refund is 1-800-974-8590. I got my money refunded in two weeks.

Here it is May 3rd and I still have not heard from this company. I have requested that my order be cancelled and my account credited for over four months. No order was ever shipped and the company just charged my credit card. I even requested that my credit card company help and they said I needed to contest this within 60-days from the first statement which I did while trying to work with this company and still I received no aid. I think the credit card company is working with the Igia Company to help rip people off! I am now going to the Attorney Generals office for help.

Since my last report I have continued to telephone Igia and was constantly put on hold for 30-40 minutes. Sometimes I never got to speak with anyone because I had to get back to work. Finally on March 23 one of Igia's rep's gave me a direct phone number to the New York office where I was told that my order had been placed and the adjustment for the extra vacuums would take 21-days to complete. I explained that it had already been much longer than 21-days and I still did not have any vacuum in my possession. I stated that I wanted the order cancelled once again and they tried to tell me it had already been shipped and that the shipping was $97.00!! I'm pretty sure shipping from any warehouse in the US is not that expensive. I again stated that I wanted my order cancelled and my charges reversed to my credit card. I finally received a return call from a representative named Johnny at the Windstorm Company and he kept saying that whoever took my request to cancel the order did not do their job and the person I spoke with in December to credit my order also did not do their job. I told him that was no way to do business and I wanted the order cancelled. I emailed them twice now and I received a response that they would be in touch with me within 24-hours and that was on the fifth of April. I still have not heard from them and I have not received a reverse charge on my credit card. These are not good companies to do business with. I know that it does not take long to fix errors and overbillings to any accounts. This should have been taken care of the day I called in December. I don't think I will ever receive a vacuum or a credit back on my Card. If I ever do I will quickly let everyone know.
