Imerperial Platinum Inc. - Yolanda King They sent my 18 year old daughter a check for $4,890.00. She called and was told to take the check to the bank tomorrow and deposit it, but to call Yolanda again first. The letter said that she also won $250,000.00 but owes $2,985.00 in taxes to be paid by Moneygram or Western Union. Beaufort South Carolina
My 18 year old daughter received a letter and check in the mail today. The letter stated that she won $250,000.00. The letter also stated that my daughter owes $2985.00 in taxes for the check amount, which needs to be paid by Moneygram or Western Union. The check was for $4,890.00. My daughter called Yolanda King questioning the mail. Ms. King told her to take the check to the bank tomorrow and call her before depositing it.
I'm sure the next step would have most likely been for my daughter to wire the $2985 tax amount to her. Thank goodness my daughter showed me the letter. I googled Imperial Platinum Inc. on my computer and found your website. The lesson my daughter learned today is that when something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
I called Ms. King back and told her that when I typed in her company name on google, I got a consumers ripoff report. I asked her if she was involved in some sort of a scam. Her response was "Not that I am aware off, mam. I will have my supervisor call you tomorrow morning." And she quickly ended the phone call. We are not holding our breath!
I also find it rather odd that the address of Imperian Platinum on the check is a South Carolina address, but the address on the letter and the postmark on the envelope are both from Canada. Ms. Yolanda King spoke with some sort of a foreign sounding accent.
