Parts on my 2012 Infiniti G37 convertible top, with just 46,000 miles, have failed and the top won't open anymore. Dealer quoted $1,700 to fix the issues... Infinity USA won't do anything because the car is "out of warranty"... their stated warranty is 4 years/60,000 miles. I have a mechanical engineering/manufacturing background and find it incredoulous that a Japanese company of this stature refuses to even offer a "good faith" repair on this vehicle... again, it only has 46,000 miles--and IMO parts should not fail like this at 46,000 miles...It's not an engine or transmission part, a convertible top that I only open 1-3x/month...!

Apparently your background didn't include Contract Law. So you may want to re-evalutate your background.

As if they have a written warranty that states it is 4 years/60,000 miles they are under no obligation to fix a 5+ year old car under the warranty. You can scream "Good Faith" until you are blue in the face, and if they do great...but if they don't this is not a RipOff.

By the way since you do have a mechanical and engineering background, can you please explain how the parts of a convertable top are related to the number of miles you drive? You said it yourself...this is not an Engine. Someone who has 70,000 miles could have used it 8 or 9 times, but a person who drove only 20,000 could have used it 500 times.

With that, just how long should they continue to be required to cover the part in "Good Faith"? At what point would you no longer consider it a RipOff if they told you they were not going to cover it.
