Complaint Review: Insight Management - Scottsdale Arizona

I'm a former employee of Maria at Insight Management and was pretty surprised when someone showed me this report. I worked for Maria for 5 years right out of college, and I can personally attest to what the previous people have stated in their rebuttals. Maria has been running Inisight Management for very long time, and she's very good at what she does. I really atrribute where I am in the industry now to watching and learning from her. At the time I worked for Maria, we had a staff of about 8-9, and we worked HARD for our artists every single day. 

I honestly think this Rita woman is nothing other than an upset Moody Blues superfan who wanted to degrade Maria and Insight when she didn't get her interview. While working with dozens off artists at Insight Management, we would get calls and emails with requests for interviews regularly, even from people who had no real media credentials, and if you don't have those, then you get turned down. Interviews are ultimately granted or turned down by the artist anyway.

Rita said Mel was rude to herz? Well, Mel died a few years before Rita's report, so I'm not sure how she spoke with him.

I could go on and on, but the previous rebuttal posters said it all and they are exactly correct. 

In the meantime, I certainly hope Rita has not continued to cause trouble for others in the industry. I think the only "bully" here is her.

 Hello, I reccently had the chance to talk to Maria personally about an artist/band she manages. I had a questions about a sold out show and she did all that she could to get me free tickets and free backstage passes. She certainly went out of her way to take care of me as a fan and I can't say thank you enough. She is a wonderful person who is very generous. I believe the company is more than legit considering they have employees and honestly do as they say which is manage artists and do it well.

The particular artist/band I was inquiring about was George Thoeogood and The Destroyers. She went above and beyond to meet my needs and did more than that. She didn't have to do anything for me or even reply but she took the time to do so. Maria replied personally to me and replied to every question I ask and even took time after work hours to reply to my questions and make sure everything was set up for the show I was attending. Maria and the company she works for/has (it isnInsight Management) is a wonderful company and she is a wonderful employee and person at heart.

I wish to support the rebuttal expressed by the former employee of Insight. I've known Maria Brunner for 30 years. I was a recording artist for Warner Bros. in the early eighties and Maria was our management rep. for Concerts West who managed  Southern Pacific the group I was in. Maria worked tirelessly and successfully to manage and promote Southern Pacific. As an important part of the Concerts West team she worked for Tom Hullett one of the most loved, revered, and respected individuals in the music bizz.

She gave the same tireless attention to The Moody's, the Beach Boys, and countless others. She has been a respected and contributing member of the music industry and there are countless record executives, managers, and concert promoters that would tell you the same thing. I continue to work with Maria on a number of different projects and she is invaluable in her knowledge of marketing and the music business as a whole. The negative comments expressed towards her upset me to the point of having to write this rebuttal as I found it to be so ridiculously off base and totally unfounded..... I hope this helps to set the record straight.... 

Melvyn Brunner died several years before this report was posted, so I don't see how one could say that both Maria and Melvyn are rude and hostile.  Since there is no way that the poster spoke with Mel Brunner, I would say that it calls this report into question -- clearly there are exaggerations.

Though I can guess that Maria Brunner may have been suspicious and condescending to the report poster over the phone, Insight Management is, in fact, a legitimate organization working with countless legitimate music and entertainment clients.  When I was employed by this company some years ago, I suggested building a website and using non-AOL email addresses to lend more credibility to the company, but they felt it was not necessary as their contacts are all behind-the-scenes in entertainment and their relationships in that world are very strong. 

Insight's stellar history in the industry and Maria's vast network of contacts keep the business booming.  She told me the company has no need for a website that only draws in a bunch of distracting new inquiries when they are continually getting new clients based on referrals from satisfied artists/managers/promoters/etc.  Since Maria literally works nonstop (she dictates emails, tasks and to-do lists to her employees into a tape recorder even while exercising, driving and eating), it may very well be the truth that the business doesn't have time for new accounts.  I don't see how Maria could be a con artist when it appeared to me that all her waking hours were spent marketing the living daylights out of every client she had.  I would be very shocked if a workaholic with her level of integrity was involved in any shady dealings.

Having worked in their office, I can tell you that it is a highly structured, endlessly busy environment with tons of clients and very full days.  Maria Brunner is a well-educated, compulsively efficient marketing professional with a huge client list who'd vouch for her on any day of the week.  After a couple years of insane days working in the same room with Maria from morning until night, hearing all of her phone conversations, making business calls, designing marketing campaigns, typing her emails, assisting in servicing clients and participating in after-hours pro bono work for animal charities, I can say that I seriously doubt there was any type of "scamming" going on.  I worked on nearly every account she had, and while I didn't know how much each client was paying for our services, I do know that I was part of thorough, legitimate marketing campaigns for numerous artists (Moody Blues included) and several pro bono charity efforts.   

I realize this report is several years old, but Maria Brunner and Insight Management are very much still in business and do not deserve for this kind of malicious libel to mar their reputation.
