You are obviously not alone. Look at how many ripoff reports have been filed against Intelius/Peoplefinder just in the last week.
They were fined $1.3 million for their blatant acts of theft 2 years ago, and they are STILL doing it because obviously they make so much money from stealing from people's credit card accounts that they can afford the fines and still make a profit, selling information that they do not have at the advertised price of $1.99 which is a lie.
The advertised $1.99 is just a trap used to steal your name, address, phone number and of course, your CREDIT CARD NUMBER so they can steal $40+ from your account each time.
And, as I said they don't have the information about the person you are looking for...it is just a lie to get at your Credit Card info.
Later, they will turn around and sell YOUR personal information which they collected when they were billing you. I found this out when I noticed my unlisted personal information was being offered for sale on PHONESBOOK.COM which I found is a part of Intelius.
I called them up and told them to remove it. They said "Ok send us a fax of your DRIVER'S LICENSE". Yea right...so I am going to send the crooks at Intelius my Driver's License which has my DL number, picture, address and other info to a bunch of filthbag thugs!
If we didn't live in such a law of the jungle country with no laws to protect people from crooks, then Intelius/Peoplefinder would not exist (and there would be no need for ripoff report!)
