Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I want to relate an experience I have had with Invisible Fence. I had the Invisible Fence system installed and I have since found out two things that I think the public should be aware of before purchasing this system for your pet. First of all if you can do it yourself then do it. You will save hundreds of dollars. All of the parts can be ordered through one of several companies on the internet for about 1/3 the price of the Invisible Fence installation. God forbid if you use the invisible fence system and have the unfortunate circumstance of losing or misplacing the dog collar. If you do and call Invisible Fence they will charge you $400 for a new collar. Also, just a heads up but if the transmitter needs to be replaced it will cost you $400 for that too. You can purchase a transmitter AND a collar that is of the same quality as that provided by Invisible Fence for under $200. Talk about a ripoff. Any quality transmitter and collar will work because after the wire is installed it can be hooked up to any system.

Second, I found out that part of the dog fence wire was installed on my neighbors property on a fence that separated our property. I only found out about this after my neighbor decided to change fences. She came over and said "When they changed the fence out they did not destroy your dog wire". I asked her what she was talking about and she showed me. I called Invisible Fence of the Gulf Coast and advised them that the fence wire was installed on my neighbors property and they told me that "it is in our notes" that you said that that was okay. I would never knowingly allow someone to install something that belongs to me on property that is not mine.

The worst part of doing business with Invisible Fence of the Gulf Coast is having to deal with an unnamed woman (I believe it is the owner's wife) that is as nasty a person as anyone will ever have to do business with. She said that I had been rude to her on three occasions which is not correct. I did voice my displeasure when she quoted me a price on a replacement dog collar as she quoted me an outrageous number. I told her that I thought she was ripping me off, and, as it turns out, based on my research she was ripping me off.  As I stated earlier you can get a replacement collar AND a new transmitter for 1/2 of what she was trying to gouge me for on the collar alone.

Finally be aware that if the wire is ever broken they will come out and charge you over $100 to repair it. It requires a simple splice and about $1 worth of wire which can be purchased at any hardware store. It only takes minutes to do the repair. Be careful when you make a choice about who will or how you will install a dog fence. As it turns out I could have bought three of these systems for what I paid for the Invisible Fence. And it is way simpler than I ever imagined.

We were very sorry to hear of your concerns. We have been in business as an Invisible Fence® Brand dealer for many years and have looked after thousands of happy customer during that time. We have gained so much of our business from our customers recommendations, and continue to do so.

I know that you initially called us, as you had lost you dog's computer collar, which we were sad to hear. Unfortunately, as you know this would mean the purchasing of a new one. When you purchased the Invisible Fence® Brand  containment system in 2010, a significant part of that total cost was in the special advanced technology computer collar. The Invisible Fence® Brand technology and warranty cannot be purchased from anyone other than an Invisible Fence® Brand Dealer.

I understand that it would be extremely frustrating to have lost the computer collar, and having to potentially outlay more money to buy a replacement. However, having spoken with you last Tuesday, I was pleased to hear that you had now managed to find the missing computer collar in your home. That was great news.

During that conversation I advised that I would send a trained technician to your home to fix/move that section of wire for you, absolutely free of charge to yourself, which you thanked me for. I understand that this has been taken care of to your satisfaction.

I would like nothing more than for you to continue to deal with us in the future. I would ask that if you need to contact us, then please feel free to call me personally.

Invisible Fence of the Gulf Coast came out and corrected the problem of the portion of the perimeter wire that was not buried but hung on a neighbor's fence. After the woman who answered the phone (I understand it is the owner's wife) was extremely impolite and unprofessional someone made a decision to come out and bury the exposed portion of the perimeter wire. I knew the woman had to be a family member of the owner because only a person who is a family member would dare speak to a customer in the manner in which she spoke to me. I would personally never do business with them again because of the nasty woman but at least the owner got it right and fixed the problem I called in about. I need to at least acknowledge that.
