Perhaps more important than the financial aid issues which hopefully can be resolved is that one needs to determine the value (if any) of the ITT Tech degree in IT.
One needs to check the value of ANY AA degree in IT. At least in Silicon Valley, you need a MINIMUM of a BS degree to land even a "throw away" IT job.
IT is an extremely grim career choice and many are mislead into "the booming high tech field" with tall tales that "The streets are paved with gold" and that "thousands and thousands and thousands of jobs exist" based on bogus job counts.
The vast majority of job ads are fake. One that is often touted about is 85,000 tech jobs from the Dice job bulletin board but likely 90% are fake. Companies "broadcast" which lead to highly inflated job numbers. A "broadcast" is when a company uses multiple agencies for a job. If 10 agencies advertise on Dice for a single job then Dice counts this as 10 jobs and not just as a single job.
You will hear a lot of nonsense that "college is college" "the school doesn't matter as long as it is accredited".
Only problem is that those who say the above don't do the hiring. In IT you have three types of schools: 1. The top 10 such as Berkeley, Stanford, MIT, etc. 2. Below the top 10 such as state universities with graduate programs, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Oregon, etc. 3. Everybody else including for profit schools.
If you are not in category 1 then it is going to be extremely difficult to have a satisfying and challenging IT career. Even if you are in category 1 a graduate degree might be needed.
