I recently moved to VA from PA.  I was a nursing student in PA wishing to transfer to another nursing school.  They knew I was military and assured me that I could use my benefits and they would let me know what transferred.  I Informed them that I needed to be full time in order to use my benefits properly and they made it seemed as if it were no problem and proceeded to get me to get all the paperwork in.  They did not tell me until after the first day that the following semesters, they may only have one or two classes I would be able to attend. They were unsure of that situation also because they still did not have a schedule for me ( I never did recieve a schedule) they told me to come back in the middle of November and then maybe they could give me a answer on how the rest of the scheduling would go.  When I asked for a copy of the clases I needed when she was trying to beat around the bush and tell me why I would only be taking 1-2 classes, she said she was unable to give me a copy of that paper. I withdrew after only 3 classes because I did not like the structure of the school and knew that i would exceed my military benefits if I continued at ITT tech.  You do not have a choice after only one class in each subject if the school would be a fit for you, I am being charged 50% of each of those 3 classes and I only sat in for 3 hours a peice because intructors let us out early.  I attended a total of 8 hrs in ITT tech and will probably have to pay over a 1000,00.00 for nothing.  I also asked for a withdraw slip or proof of my withdraw and they kept transferring me to every othher department and I still do not have proof that I withdrawed from their program.  I do not understand why they do not have a period you can withdraw from the school without penalty if you find it not suited for you.

Oh my GOD!  That also happened to me too.  Your story is basically EXACTLY how it happened too me, except a couple of different things.  I was registered to go to ITT Technical Insitute in Boise, ID and had started.  I decided after the first week, which was about 6 hours of schooling that I wanted to transfer to a different school.  They told me that everything would be fine since i hadnt been there long, and that every school was a seperate financail aid, so i would have to reapply and have that money sent to new school.  They ended keeping my WHOLE GI BILL.  Now the GI BILL people are saying that I owe them $5,036 for this!  I told them I dropped out of that school, and they told me that ITT Tech needs to pay me back so i can pay them back.  Well after calling them numerous times to no avail, I gave up.  I dont know what to do, all i know is this is WRONG!  Please help me if you have a resolution to this problem.  I wish i had the money to sue them, i know they probably have done this to countless of Veterans and Civilian students alike.  SO WRONG!
