Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I like most of you had the same conversations with these people, I spoke to a Patricia and Nick. Now Nick is suposed to be the "manager". My conversation went just like most of the other people, reporting on the company, did. I too am working with a debt management company and found in December that they had one of my account numbers wrong and the credit card company was not receiving my payments. The credit card company cashed but did not post to my account 5 payments from August 2007 to December 2007 and since I discovered the error and debt management company fixed the problem they have been receiving payments. Now, the fun begins, I tried to explain my situation to Nick and, of course like any other debt collector, go nowhere. He also asked me to ask family and friends for the money, I told him he was crazy and my family and friends did not have the money. He called me a liar and how would I know what my famaly and friends had, well I do know and they don't have it. I got very angry with Nick and contuned to banter with him for about 15 minutes of course doing no good. I expressed an interst in making payments, knowing full well that I could not afford any additional payments, I was already makeing payments to the credit card company, but I thought if I could make payments to Cambece, then I would stop the payments from the credit management and of course he did not want payments he wanted the full balance due. Anyway, he told me he would tell his client to move forward with "proceedings" against me, I told him to "do what you have to do". I spoke to the people at the debt management company and got very upset, I should know not to let these people upset me and they told me not to let them get to me and to ignore the calls. Well about a week or two later, I received another call when I was at work and politely called them back and got voice mail and let them know to stop calling me, I was dealing with the original creditor and until the account was fixed I really had nothing to say to them. Well, the next day I got another call and was feeling pretty good, because by this time I had recieved information on the payments made on my account, that the credit card company received but did not post to my account. I called and of course got Nick on the phone again and let him know about my disgust of the first conversation and that I am requesting that he not call me anymore and that I had payments that did not get posted to my account, he again called me a liar because he can see on my account a payment posted in January and so they must have been getting payments, well I explained, yes that January was the first correct payment they posted in six months and that they were researching the other missing payments. He told me that he would take off the amount I say I paid them, could I pay the balance then, I told him "NO" I already have an agreemtn with the credit card company to make payments every month. Well once again, I ended up sinking to his level and told him to get his head out of his a@# and listen to people. Well the end of that conversation got me so fired up mad that I desiced to do some searching on the internet and found the same article that another person had found from Bud Hibbs that was very interesting along with a few other web sites. If you do a search for "Debt Colleciton Practices" this can bring up some very good information for the average consumer to read along with a sample letter to send to these debt collectors" to force them to either leave you alone or give up the information they have. I sne the letter certified to JA Cambece's office so I wonder if I will hear form them again or if they will even comply with my request. I really hope something can be done about this company. I really hope that someone like an attoney reviews all these complaints and creates a class action lawsuit against these people, they need to be stopped for breaking the law. I do not necessarily think they brok the law in my case, but after reading what other people have gone through with this company, I think this is a lawsuit waiting to happen and think whoever would take it on, would porbably be able to find an enormous amount of people willing to take these "bottom feeders" on. I knwo I would to hit these people were it hurts, in ther own pocket, like they are trying to get in ours, when we have lives to like and kids to feed. I am trying to pay my debt, I am not trying to get out of it, I want to get the credit card company their money.

I was so thankful to come across this web site and to hear all of the same stories that I have and to know there are other people out there in my similar situation. I really hope something can be done about this.

If there is anyone that can help, please feel free to let me know.

Well, as I tried to explain to the idiots at Cambece, my particular situation was an error and could and would be corrected. I wrote the letter the FDCPA, I got my response that stated, basically, they would get the records and forward copies when they became available, they said my letter did not give them a time limit, it did it was 30 days, I guess they can not even read either. Well actually several times speaking with managers in the customer service area of the the original creditor and getting know where, I started doing some research online and found a number to the corporte offices of the credit card company. I made one phone call spoke to a very nice women there and within an hour she located my lost payments and started the process of buying the debt back. So it can be done, if there is a legitamate error that needs corrected, just keep plugging away and finally you will locate the correct person to talk too. The credit card company has also sent out letters to fix my credit and take the charge off, off of my credit report. It probably took me a total of about 20 or so hours on the phone with the wrong people to get ahold of the right person and again everything was taken care of. I really wanted to call Nick to glote, but I figured he was busy harrassing other people such as myself. Anyone who has legitimate errors that caused the debt to go to charge off, just get all of your paperwork in order and start looking for a differnt number to call other than the regular customer service and be calm, the yelling and screaming at people will get you know where and who wants to talk to someone who is rude, so keep your whitts about you and just keeping working on it, eventually someone will listen.
