On 3/30/14 I payed for an order I received with my debit card and was told my card was insufficient. Knowing this wasn't true, I asked the clerk to try again. He then proceeded to run my card 3 additional times. When I got home I checked my bank account and there were 2 pending transactions for the same amount for Jack in the Box. I have been trying ever since to have them resolve this issue and have gotten nowhere. I went back to the store Mon, Tue and Wed but the manager was never there. I contacted the corporate offices on Mon and was told someone would call me back but no one did. Then I received an issuficient funds charge as a result. The corporate office agents are telling me to speak with the manager at the store for an immediate refund, but the manager is telling me its a bank error. On top of everything, Jack in the Box has a sign posted that if you're asked to pay more than your receipt shows (which clearly being doubled charged is paying more), then your meal is free. The final outcome from the corporate office was that if I wasn't willing to wait up to 3 weeks for them to refund what they double charged me, then I'd have to disput it with my bank. Which I'm in the process of doing now. But now I want Jack in the Box to honor their sign and refund my original charge. In my opinion, is it just tantimount to stealing and I'm supposed to wait 3 weeks form them to give back to me something they were never entitled to to begin with. The real question lies in how this actually occurred. I've worked many different cash registers, and the charge on the screen won't go away until a valid payment has been entered. So in my opinion, the only way this could have happened is the cashier processed my card, told me it was insufficient then rerang up all the items and processed my card again. That's the only thing that makes sense. But what is more frustrating is that Jack in the Box not only refused to resolve it properly, but they were all very indignant about it from the start. Oh and I should mention just to top everything off that they didn't even get the order correct.

You are ONLY seeing what you want to. The sign states in your own words "That if you are asked to pay more then the reciept says". You were not ASKED to pay extra. Due to an equiptment error you are being double billed, which means you were paying for it at the time and due to a error you are getting charged extra. THAT in NO WAY meets the criteria for that sign to be valid, youre just fishing around for something for nothing in some vain attempt to misread the sign in your favor.

When there is a double bill, you NEVER take it to the store or corporate office. You ALWAYS dispute the extra charge with your bank. You are blowing the situation out of proportion and attempting internet blackmail over a equiptment issue. A problem that I might add, that NONE of the employees could have foreseen or controlled. As the equiptment itself is normally leased through the third party credit/debit service company that MUST be used. Stop being a drama queen because your situation and that sign DO NOT match up. Stop fishing around for something free as none of the people involved maliciously overcharged you. It was a equiptment failure and nothing more.

YOU are a prime example of the self entitlment of the American Consumer. People like YOU are always trying to get one over on those they think they can get away with it. A silly little twit, who had a unfortunate issue happen to them, so they think they can milk it like a golden cow. You are quick to jump online and make a erronious report, but you seem to forget how many times YOU have screwed others over. A individual doesnt just wake up one day and descide to  work the customer service system to get as much as they can. That is a learned behaviour and it takes a special kind of jack@ss to do it. People like you REFUSE to accept that in life s**t happens. They NEVER take responsability for thier own actions even if they have disasterious outcomes, but are the FIRST to hold other to thier mistakes.

Im going to make you feel REALLY dumb.....Neither Jack in the Box corporate OR the store you went to has ANY control over the card reading equiptment. They MUST use a third party so if there is ANY credit/debit issue the stores hands are clean. The entity that you should be going after is the credit card processing company. Its THIER equiptment that screwed up, its THIER infrastructure that failed you. They are the ones who you have to go after for a refund as THEY are the ones that overcharged you. By going to the store and making a scene you have only shown that you have no maturity and that YOU ARE LAZY.

Maybe you should just use cash instead. And maybe go after the RIGHT people. You know instead of bashing INNOCENT individuals whos only crime was having to meet you that day.
