Jerry Gagnon is nothing but a conman! In September of 2018 I hired a contractor to do a remodel of my North End Condo. I have since found out that his license expired in 2015, he is on the MA Most Wanted List (https://www.massmostwanted.org/case/caseId-19596) and he has multiple aliases and business names.
He completed the bathroom, two bedrooms have yet to be completed as well as the kitchen - which was demolished by his crew on September 26, 2018. The work that has completed is passable at best and dangerous at worst (two ceiling fans were installed with hardware with a weight limit of 6 pounds). He was paid in full for the job, a total of $34,181.63.
The last payment was made on November 29, 2018. I displaced from my home from 11/1/18 through 1/16/19. Since January 16, 2019 the only work done in my unit was the installation of a stack able washer/dryer, which was done on March 25, 2019. Also since moving back in I found that the electrical work was faulty (my TV caught on fire and was ruined due to this) and had to hire my own electrician to check/re-do all that he had done for my own peace of mind and safety.
He has been paid for Cabinets, Counter tops, Kitchen Appliances, two Barn Style Closet doors and closet shelving that I have yet to receive. He has also been unable/unwilling to provide proof of purchase of any of the above referenced items. He responds to calls or text less than 50% of the time and has gotten aggressive when I do get him on the phone (states he has no phone, computer or Internet service often), and there is always an excuse as to why the work is delayed (including - having a stroke, snow, holidays, a leak into the area where all my stuff was, workers sick, workers bite by a spider, it goes on and on).
On 4/16/19 he stated I would be receiving a bank check via certified mail for the goods and services I have paid for but have yet to receive. Shockingly 10 business days later I have received no payment and am receiving no response to emails, calls or texts.
