On July 16, 2004 at about 1:00 pm in the afternoon, I visited your Jiffy Lube located at 12300 Heacock Street in Moreno Valley, California. The phone # there is 909-485-4588.

I asked for an oil change, not to do anything else. They told me that this would take about 20 minutes. They took down my information in the computer, and I told them I was going to go grab a bite and would be back afterwards. About an hour later, I arrived back and was told that they couldn't change my oil because the oil plug was on to tight. I asked why they hadn't called me, they said We didn't know you left your phone number, yet they had me tell them my number as they typed it into their computer.

I was somewhat suspicious to the "tight oil plug as I have only used one other mechanic during the past 4 years and the only reason why I didn't go to him was he was tied up until later that week. But after that, I did go back to my mechanic and he said he would check it on Sunday(July 18). We commuted to work the next day and on Sunday, my mechanic called me and told me that not only did he unscrew the oil plug without any tools, but he stated that the oil pan had been stripped. What was very interesting is that the original plug had no shavings, no indentations, or scarring whatsoever. Both mechanics that saw my car concurred that this is highly unlikely. They asked me to go back and have the Jiffy Lube manager come and see for himself. He refused and then he said, "You don't have a receipt, so you don't have a case". He didn't want to visit the other car repair shop to show that his shop wasn't involved.

One additional note, is that the oil was not dark which should of been because I have traveled over 3,000 miles. Also the oil cap on top of the engine wasn't on tight. It was loosened.

I do have two witnesses that will verify I was there as they were my guests for lunch.

This bothered me so I decided to check out with other mechanics and also individuals who are in the racing business. All came up to the same conclusion, which isn't favorable towards Jiffy Lube.

I will be out of use a car for the next 5 days, the oil pan will have to be replaced and because of the lack of concern the mangagers behalf, I have no other alternative than to seek some type of justice.

I am not a person that enjoys hurting business or other people. If I would have been told the truth, without hiding facts I would of tried to work out something that would work out so that everyone wins. But because of the lying, lack of paperwork, denying I was even there, bothers me. I did send my first email within 3 hours to Jiffy Lube corporate office and received a reply. Up to now no one has contacted me. I have followed this up with 3 others emails, one each day, filed with Better Business Bureau and Bureau of Automotive Repair.

My next step is to file a claim in small claims court. In addition I plan on writing the newspaper, placing ads to see if others have had the same challenges, and contact the television and radio personalities.

I would love to find others who have paperwork, records of phone calls, the lack of communication from Jiffy Lube, who want to file a class action suit. We can change things if we work together.

THIS DOESN'T MEAN ALL JIFFY LUBES ARE WRONG OR TERRIBLE. I HAVE HAD GREAT RESULTS IN THE PAST, BUT THIS NOT RIGHT WHAT THEY ARE DOING, SO AS AN AMERICAN CITIZEN, I WANT TO MAKE THIS RIGHT!

THANKS

Rob
