i payed for my son to attend john casablanca modeling and career center. we live in columbus ga so we commuted every other saturday so he could attend classes to get signed with mtm agency. he completed the classes and was signed. that was in 2007-08 which he did not receive his photos from the photo shoot and only got called 2 times for auditions. i had to pay out over 3000 dollars because the classed were financed through NEA and I had to make payment monthly til debt was cleared.

Okay I do not know what letter I received but the company want me to pay $450 for photos. Can someone please email or call me and let me know what you think i should do. The agent said that I would not have to ever pay for anything else in the future. He also said I have potential for full time modeling. I do not have to take classes or anything like that but I do think the pictures are expensive. I also asked him if I could go to my own professional photographer which is cheaper. He said that would not work because they trust there own photographers, hairstylist, and make-up artists. Another thing I was concerned about was that I had to give him the $150 the next day! Im not rich! $150 for me is hard to come by! Someone pls respond or shot me a email asap. Thanx for reading!

i went to one of the casting calls for john casablancas and the manager told me that they really liked my look and all i have to do is pay for my professional photos and then i would be put in for jobs...... photos costing 350.00 including hair and make-up....im gonna do it sunday and then i'll let you know if i ever get a job or 2....lol but i definently wouldnt pay thousands the only reason that im paying 350.00 is because i think its a good deal even if nothing comes of it fo rpro pics...

I can appreciate your concerns about the school, etc. My family was fortunate enough to have made John Casablancas training and contacts work for us. I have two daughters that are now working actors---right now doing national commercials. We really aren't interested in any bigger projects and commercials can be lucrative if they are national - I wouldn't consider anything other than that. The fees are expensive at this school - but then so is the talent and caliber of teachers/actors/professional models that they bring in...at least in CA. We are very fortunate to live close to L.A., therefore we are in the hub of the entertainment world and have many auditions under our proverbial belt. None of this happened over night and "no one" out there can guarantee a thing. it is your desire, your commitment and positive attitude and extreme focus that will make the difference, and then of course the quality of training one plans to put into it. I have paid for a 4 yr degree...and that training did not come cheap, and neither does the investment in my teen's acting/modeling training. My eldest received a student loan---so the fees were completely taken care of. My youngest got the 1/2 price because of the sibling deal. So overall, the 6 hour classes they receive every other Sat has paid off after a year of training, etc. They got a ligit agent out of L.A., my eldest has done one national commercial and my youngest has done two national commercials. It takes much perseverance, dedication, and hard work...a strong work ethic is essential...and unfortunately many people lack those type of values these days. there is no easy or quick road...but this school has been beneficial beyond measure to our family.

Sorry to break the bubble for the winner of the free photo shoot, but EVERYBDOY gets a B on their evaluation, since an A would mean that you don't need any acting classes. So of course they aren't going to give you an A. Hell, if Johnny Depp walked into a John Casablancas agency, they'd tell him that he needed training and would give him an acting grade of B. Fortunately, I only attended the interview and after the lady said "Okay, give me $2,000", I simply walked out of the office. Look, a really agency would: a) NOT have set-ups at malls or hotels. They shouldn't be looking for you; you should be looking for them. b) NOT charge you money for anything but the photo shoot. I'm with VIA, and they only charged me $350 for a VERY high quality photo shoot that even took place at the facility. And guess what? The shoot happened almost immdiately. They didn't require me to take any classes before I got the shoot. So my suggestion? Don't fall for all the flashy adds and empty promises made by the two Johns (John Casablancas and John Robert Powers). Instead, look for a local talent agency who'd be willing to let you start getting your face out there right away.

I will soon be taking classes at JC, and it seemed professional enough... I spun a wheel at the mall, and won a free photo shoot at JC, plus an audition for the agency. We actually rated ourselves, and as I didn't consider my self to be a professional, I said that I was a B. My brother didn't make it, but I did. Let me remind you not to expect miracles overnight-I hope that I'm more lucky that you-not insultingly of course. (I'm not sure if that's even a word) Well, if you want to succeed, you must pay a high price.

Comment added to this above comment I currently got selected my self for this same thing and went through the same has the girl above but they told me I was a graded at a b also and i went for the interview and they signed me up right away but they asked for 340.00 down that day so i was stupid and gave them my credit card # it was going to be 161 a month for 15 months and a grand total of 2,660.00 and this does not guarantee you anything I canceled and said I would not attend there career center so I hope i get my 340.00 returned to me but we will see. there should be a law against these talent agencies they all are rip offs and should not be aloud
