I applied to a job posting on Craigslist and subsequently got the job. As a trial I was asked to do a little task which was to buy presents for children at an orphanage. After which my employer (John Nieves) emailed saying since the cost of postage will be high.. he shall have his client send me the money 2500$ from which I should deduct my salary of 400$ and use western union to send the rest of the amount. After having received the check and it being cleared and me sending the money off to the orphanage (Dion Vienna in London) I just got a call from the bank saying the check is being returned and my personal bank account is being frozen.
I am a student with limited money in my account. I HAVE BEEN FRAMED BY JOHN NIEVES.

There are just too many red flags here: Western Union, I send you 2500, you deduct 400 and send me the rest, orphanage, and last but not least, posting on Craigslist.
Come on, I thought anyone that can read knows about these scams. Just what kind of student are you?

This is yet another variation of the Nigerian scam.
Those Nigerians are very crafty tricksters.
Never, NEVER send funds via Western Union - great big red flag.

You fell for a scam. That's not the same as being framed.
This company unfortunately did a terrible thing and took advantage of you, using "the oldest trick in the book." Since you're the one who decided to work with them and fell for the scam, you have the burden of tracking them down and getting them to reimburse the money they cheated you out of. You don't just get the dump the problem onto the bank or someone else.
