After being victim of their well known sales pressure techniques, I authorized JRP to charge my debit card in the amount of 1,950.00 USD to pay in full to enroll my son in one of their "tuition" programs.

Since I noticed several suspicious details and I felt rushed into my decision, the next day I faxed and mailed (certified) a letter cancelling the enrollment. I personally went to their offices to get my deposit back and I was told that it would take 30 days for you to fully reimburse that amount to my debit card.

I accepted because that was the way it was agreed in our contract.

It has been more than three months since I cancelled the contract and I haven't got my money back.

My 10 year-old son is very frustrated and sad about "causing" our family to be involved in this rip-off and this abuse has severely affected his self-esteem and caused several discussions that are also affecting our marriage.

I have started talking to lawyers and it is costing me money. I have also spent several hours of my valuable time trying to get back what is mine, resulting in a huge loss business oportunities.

I want to be compensated and I want John Robert Powers to be unable to cheat on any more people with their "well designed" rip-off and dishonest way of conducting business.

Sorry for your son's bad experience. I hope it works out for your family. JRPs are all individually owned and operated franchises. Did you know that? Have you contacted the corporate office in Beverly Hills? As with any franchise, you get some bad with the good. However, JRP is an 80 year old company with great people! I know the owner's in Miami and they are good people! I don't know why they haven't resolved your situation amicably, but don't give up! If you have solid paperwork and go through the main office I am sure they will be able to help you. Tell your son not to give up!
