We were contacted in Meadowwood Mall in Reno, NV. We were told our son had what it took to be actor material. We went to interview, spent lots of time, our son was so excited.

We finally broke down and paid the $2000 or $3000 for Lessons/Contacts. He actually went to a couple of classes, we lived 80 miles away, so it was a long trip for us to get him there and back for these classes.

We now live in Reno, wanted to hook up with them again. Guess what, they aren't even there. Apparently they have been run out of town. Why aren't we filing a class action suit on this one?

We didn't have the money to spend on these classes, we almost spent a fortune going down to Vegas, my son was so upset we didn't have the money and still thinks he could have made it big if we had taken him down and paid John Robert Powers the expensive travel arrangements.

Please someone go after these guys! I will definitely be there if a lawsuit is filed. We deserve to have our monies back. I figure we paid approximately $750 per hour for absolutely nothing, not to mention time, gas, and our son's disappointment for years and years. We even thought we blew it.

Whoever you are, by the name of Vaeneth... or whatever you claim your name to be... stop lieng about how the place "wasn't shut down" out of nowhere!

What many people don't know is that people that claim to be on Justine's and Kim Flowers' side actually report to me many..... MANY things!  How about the sheriff's order to remove everyone in the office because the state had sued the place??

Did the place not get shut down out of nowhere?? Honey, I got the big yellow sheriff's order by one of Justine's so called "pets"! So I know how it really happened! Karen also saw the sheriff's order to suddenly remove every individual. So the place WAS shut down out of nowhere!

Don't play the little victim game!

Thank you for Reporting this! We have a team of the San Jose DA, and a Civil Team on the case, working on the Person who was opening schools in other states, Stanley Robinson, was this the owner there? Please provide as much detail and FLAG that you are the Nevada Contact. I was lead to believe he would open a school there, but still do not have proof....

Hello! I read that you were stopped in the Meadowood mall. It's very interesting actually.. because I'm the staff that would work in the Meadowood mall with alot of other great people. Maybe it was even me who stopped you to invite you and your son in! Please understand this.. if things weren't being run "legit", so to speak, please don't think that we from the promotional department were the bad guys. As a matter of fact.. I was the assistant for the Promotional Director, Karen Cottey. I also want to mention to you that the promotional department there wasn't treated very fairly! Not only by the main person in the office... but by the owners, because whenever we wanted to mention something to them they'd ignore us and would allow the negative things there to continue. One of the girls that worked there, Sierra, actually quit do to moral issues! She told me and the promotional director that the director of operations, Justine, had suggested to her to head into prohibited areas in the special events to get leads. And those were her exact words- "moral issues"! Now I'm not completely sure asto how the following happened.. but the promotional department was going to start a pretty big promotional project for the "Almost Famous" magazine. Well... the promotional director was upset because the owners out of nowhere reduced her pay and mysteriously very little bonuses were appearing on her paycheck. When the promotional director brought it up to the owners and Justine she basically got fired! Now.. I said I wasn't completely sure what happened, because Justine told me something totally different.... she told me that Karen was upset about something (wouldn't tell me what, though) and she asked her not to appear to work that day and that Karen said she quit. But then again.. on the other side of the tortilla the promotional director said she did NOT quit.. she was fired for confronting them about the unexpected reduced salary! Another thing... I felt somewhat horrased.. I do not know who could've sent out so many people to spy on me.. but people were telling Justine all these bunch of false allegations about me and the rest of the promotional staff! Basically some people (actually many random people) would simply walk by the kiosk at the mall and run to Justine and accused us of not working. Which was outrageous... because that went on for over 4 months. Had I not been working and not getting them the leads.. then why would they have allowed me to stay for over 6 months?? Then someone in the office there had a problem with me.. simply because of the fact that I was getting "too many" hispanic leads!! I won't mention her name.. because I don't want to make it seems as if I were accusing her of being racist.. but when you think about it... So when I finally had it.. something really bad happened.. a really bad experience... not only that.. but I had it with the lies of Justine.. because at first she had promised all these bunch of things in the pre-employment process and promised bonuses for getting a certain amount of leads in certain events! Well ofcourse.. she lied to me in the pre-employment process and about the bounuses. And there I was like an idiot getting over 100 leads in an event and not seeing the promised bonus!! The at the end.. I called in to quit because of my bad experience and what I just explained to you.. I gave a 1 month's notice.. but ironically the owners decided to "let me go"!! I could go on about this.. but you know what.. talk is cheap!!! And I spoke with the Pr. of the franchise and he wants to get the place reopened and bring in the people that had previously paid to finish their training and keep going to the auditions. So the only way that you can get a hold of me is to go to craigslist (Reno/Tahoe area) and under jobs.. almost all the way to the bottom look for the subject "TV/FILM/VIDEO". Get in there and look for the listing with the title in regards to the JRP Reno location and Kim Flowers. Reply to the posting and I will help you out. I have the numbers to call and people to speak with about getting what you've paid for back!! And as for the employee by the name of "Veneath" or something like that... I never heard of a Veneath.. I think you're Kristen or Nicole.. but speak up and give your real name.. because if you received threats and have them saved.. look for the listing on Craigslist aswell and contact me.. I promise I'll be the only one with your information and will pass it down to the right person!!

Please understand first of all that if any of this does not make sense particularly to you it is because I am trying to respond to everyone at once in regards to JRP Reno. I worked at the JRP in Reno for three years and it had been there for a total of 7 years; therefore, it is not true that the company was here one day and gone the next. I feel very sad and unfortunate for the kids and the parents who had recently signed with JRP or had upgraded as they were hurt the most. One thing that everyone must understand is that John Robert Powers' are franchises and are not owned by the same people. I do have some sense of peace knowing that there are a lot of people that did benefit form the training at JRP. The coaches and the staff there, including me, loved each and every one of those kids. The teachers were phenomenal and well experienced in the entertainment industry. They did an amazing job with our students and some people will forever be grateful not only for their opportunity to work in the industry (as some do) but also for the self esteem and life skills that so many people acquired from the Reno coaches. Each and every one of us that worked in Reno fulfilled our obligations as far as honoring contracts, arranging meetings with agencies/casting directors, and educating students. Although it may sound as if I am defending what Kim Flowers and Stephanie Pegues have done, I am not! I just want everyone to understand that we did everything that we could and we were lied to just like all of you. The owners of our company lived in Las Vegas. Kim only part owned the company and if these people do eventually get sued, I want everyone to know that Stephanie Pegues (Kim's sister) was the other owner. The one that got to stay under the radar. The one who paid us our "bad" checks late every two weeks. The one who changed her number and disconnected our phones. The one who was in charge of refunds. I think that Kim is definitely responsible because it was her business but I know for a fact that Stephanie was at fault just as much if not more than Kim Flowers. I am almost afraid to post this because Ms. Pegues was threatening us in the end. She refused to pay everyone their last paychecks, she wrote harassing emails in regards to us and our family members, and she threatened to close the business if we did not resume making sales. We had stopped selling contracts because we were told that we were going to train all of our current students and not accept anyone else until things had gotten better. For those of you who are looking to file a class action suit, I am already in touch with a group of people that are doing so. If you'd like to contact me, I am unsure as to how to exchange information privately i.e. phone, email etc....but if I receive any replies to this, I will find a way. Take Care Everyone!
