Complaint Review: Jonica Stingl - Palm Springs California

Warning Do Not Rent  / Jonica Stingl Property owner of Camp Bonita / Duplexu units on Big bend Road in Bonita Springs. 

One month ago I rented a duplex unit from Ms Stingl. The duplex is located on Big Bend Road unit 27594. There are 8 other units she is illegaly renting as well. The day after I gave Ms. Stingl $2,100.00 to move into the unit, I discovered multipile ceiling leaks in the unit. Leaking bad enough so that rain waters were leaking in six places within the unit. I also detected many areas where black mold was present. For over a month I arged with Ms. Stingl that I did not beloieve the unit was in liveable conditon. I asked for her to honor her responsibilties as a landlord requesting that my unit be repaired. No such repairs were done. She had several roofers come to take a look, the roofs were in such bad condition/ that in four areas the roofs collapsed and roofers fell thru . I feared for my saftey in this unit. I asked for a refund of the twenty one hundred dollars I had given her, and she refused to communicate with me. I learned that this it typical of Ms. Stingl , a landlord who will take your money, promise yo repairs, and not follow thru on her word. Ive also learned that Ms. Stinlg lives in California and has not been on her property in the past ten years., She had a tentant named Ted, running the property for her. I sure wish Ted would have been honest with me, about Jonica and her ways. Sadly, I was inside the other units she rents ot. I saw horrible conditions. Lagre holes in celings, Walls, some units being rented out in filthy dirty conditons, some with no electricty and or plumbing., My thinking tells me Ms. Stinlg preys on the vulnerable, those less fortunate. Shes more than happy to collect money, while renting units that do not even meet very basic housing and or health codes. 

Im not sure how she does it...but she avoids normal inspections , and has a restraunt inspector doing her inspections. Ive looked at the reports, and see where the reapirs were never done that were requested. Something is very Fishy here. I also had state inspectors asking me if this was a church property. trust me, this is not a church or restraunt. I suspect she does this / to put herself in a tax exempt class...where she can avoid paying taxes and somehow gets around meeting housing and health codes. I know Im not her first victim. I hope to be her last. The property is now being investigated. Ive learned she does not even have rental permits. So to those of you who have been forced to live in sub par condiitons, Know that you are paying money to a landlord who is not legally allowed to be renting out her units. 

I intend to see this woman stopped. I hope to get back the twnety one hndred dollars she robbed from me. 

Do yourself a Huge favor. If you see her rental adds..dont believe a word of it. She is not in the process of redojg her properties as she would like you to beive. She will take your money and leave you living in units full of black mold, rotting wood, and leaking horrible roofs. She will promise you the world, and deliver nothing. Shes ALL about taking your money. I now will file a law suit against her, go to small claims court, and stand in line with the others, whos only recourse is to have leins put on her property. I belive this landlord is a slum landlord who cares nothing about the living conditions of her paying tenents. I sure hope the City Of Bonita Springs gets involved and takes proper legal action
