Last November, I received a solicitation in the mail from JPMorgan Chase Bank offering me a complementary $25 "Chase Gift" in appreciation of being a customer. This offer stated that I would be able to claim a $25 gift card if I logged onto chaserewardcertificate.com and chose from a list of participating merchants. After selecting a merchant, I was promised that a $25 gift card from that merchant would be mailed to me. I logged onto the website and entered all of the information as requested.

I chose a $25 gift card from Starbucks, and submitted my request. Two months went by, and I never received the gift card as promised. I didn't think anything of it and I wasn't going to make an issue of it, as I mistakenly believed that JPMorgan Chase Bank's failure to send me the promised gift card wasn't going to cost me any money.

In mid-January, I received a Form 1099-INT in the mail from JPMorgan Chase Bank for the $25 gift card which I never received. I called up Chase's customer service number and told them that I should not have to pay tax on a gift card which I never received. They apologized and told me that they would send me a replacement $25 gift card from Starbucks. Well, it has been well over nine months, and I haven't received the replacement gift card either!

I have written two cerified letters to JPMorgan Chase Bank concerning this matter, but I have never received a reply to, or even an acknowledgement of the receipt of, my letters. Because of JPMorgan Chase Bank's refusal to address this matter (among other, more serious issues), I have decided to finally terminate my banking relationship with them.

I withdrew my remaining balances and closed my checking and savings account on August 2nd, but JPMorgan Chase Bank keeps charging me monthly service charges! I have been into the bank twice since I closed my account, and even though the monthly service fees were removed each time, these b***s just can't seem to close my account and keep it closed. I guess that they just don't want to let me go as a customer! Well, JP Morgan Chase Bank, you should have thought about that before you started srewing me over!
